**** the Chiefs, even if for just one year. This is the year of the Brock - all in.

I believe the Chiefs will have many more opportunities than the 49ers over the next decade so let's get the Brock story cemented forever.

I'm on team 49er's as well. I want Brock to win a super bowl, becuse his story will be good for ISU.

The Chiefs have already won a couple in recent years, and as a Chiefs fan myself, I am willing to give up a year for an ISU QB to win.

Jackson absolutely deserved MVP a few years ago. His play was not nearly as dynamic this year as it was that one and the stats support it. His defense is what carried them this year.

When Jackson and the Ravens destroyed the 49ers that won him the MVP. But I can see why he got it. When you look at their team they don't really have stars on that offense besides him. The best WR was a rookie in and Mark Andrews was hurt. So he carried that offense. I also thought he was better this year than he was the other year he won it.

This year or next year is probably Brock's best chance. So this year because they are already there. You never know on injuries, free agency, draft, team turnover, retirements. He has a perfect opportunity right now. The Chiefs already won a few and will likely be back many more times. So yeah that's right. Cheer for Brock and the 49ers.

As a Chiefs fan I want Brock to do well, but want the Chiefs to win. No guarantee these teams get back every year so gotta stack the wins when you get a chance. Iowa State is not playing this weekend.

Of the 5 finalists Jackson was absolutely the least deserving. The top 2 clearly should have been Purdy or McCaffrry.
I'm curious to hear your reasoning. Not saying that I disagree, but I'm curious if you're basing this on data or feelings?

Because the data is pretty even between guys like Purdy and Jackson.
Similar total yardage
Purdy more passing yards
Jackson more rushing yards
Purdy responsible for 4 more TDs
Jackson threw 4 fewer INTs
The biggest difference is that Jackson was responsible for a significantly larger percentage of his team's offense than Purdy was, so I'm thinking that might go to the classic definition of "most valuable"

I think it could have gone either way, but I'm curious to hear the reasoning behind Lamar being "absolutely the least deserving" of the award.

Why hasn't this line moved? Nearly 80% of the bets are on the Chiefs. All the media/analysts are taking the Chiefs yet the line hasn't moved off 2. Vegas has dug in there heels and refused to move the line.

Ok, so a quick question here.... I am not in know here, and maybe I missed it... by why does Brock Purdy NOT wear #15? I assume another player has it, but not willing to change?

This. In addition to being the teams QB, he also had rushing stats that were pretty good for an NFL starting running back and was the teams leading rusher. People acting like there was no way Lamar deserved mvp can't see past their Purdy fandom.

I'm a lifelong Packer fan, so I faced a similar conundrum in the NFCCG. Here was my reasoning:

I've been fortunate enough to be alive and remember watching my Packers win two super bowls and have felt most years we had a decent shot at bringing the Lombardi home.

But never in my wildest dreams did I think an Iowa State QB could be the Super Bowl winning QB.

Give me the thing I've never seen over the thing I've seen.

He's worn 13 his whole life (high school and earlier) because Dan Marino was his favorite QB. Wearing 15 at ISU is the outlier -- I'm guessing 13 wasn't available for him here.

There are pics of him in high school and younger levels wearing #13 in this video. He's even wearing an ISU #13 in the recruiting photo in the video thumbnail.

Jennings is 15. Do you think Jennings would give up his number to a third string rookie QB.

What stats are you looking at? Purdy has significantly more yards. I think the QBR rankings are a good start. Purdy is first in both of those. Jackson is 4th in both.

The 49ers for as much talent they have haven’t had a good defense this year. Their line isn’t great. The Ravens are elite defensively.

The 49ers have been all around winning. The Ravens won because of defense.

The problem has been , and is evident by the voting, that people viewed Brock as the second best player on his team.

I've heard that Vegas has a significant exposure to pre-to-mid-season 49ers SB bets. If the 49ers win, Vegas will get crushed by higher payout bets. Not moving the line could be a function of still trying to balance their exposure in the event of a 49er win.

I've read that if Kelce scores the game's first TD and somehow ends up as MVP, they could see some big losses.
