Leonard Johnson - Last year he got abused in this game and got beat by McNutt on multiple occasions. By the time conference play came around he was very solid and a great CB. Has to play that way in this game and slow down McNutt and not give up the big play.

Jacob Lattimer - With Vandenberg being more of a pocket passer, I think Lattimer can go after him a bit more. Rinnie from UNI was so fast that you had to try and stay in your gaps. On passing plays we need to get some pressure on Vandenberg and it starts with Lattimer

Rump - We need him to be healthy and able to play a majority of the game. Slowing down Iowa's running game is key and takes them out of their ball game if they aren't able to run those play action passes as much

Hayworth Hicks - Can his presence shore up the offensive line? Iowa's got a beast in Mike Daniels and we got to be able to run the football and give Jantz time to make a play. Hopefully the addition of Hicks can plug some holes and tire the Hawkeye D Line

Steele Jantz - Quarterbacks are always the key to every game. Steele needs to play mistake free football and be more accurate than he was last Saturday. I think he made the right reads most of the time, now he just needs to make the throws. And he can't get greedy. Iowa will give up plays underneath. He needs to take what they give him and wait.

Who else ya got?

Horne has got to be on there, IMO, our key receiver this year.

I was going to put Reynolds on the list if I put WR. I believe that Horne is going to be solid and dependable. It is "key" that Reynolds shows up and plays to his ability against Iowa.

I agree with this but think it just has to be some WR, we have options so any one of them could make a play, we just need them to catch balls they should. And jump when the opportunity is there, could be Money, Darks, Horne, Lenz, West, or even Bundrage or Daniels (maybe we saved him for this week)....

I think we also need a RB to step up, the running game outside of Jantz was pretty weak last week, we need more production there.....

We just need a lot of luck to go our way. Hopefully its a 2007 type game because we won't be able to score more than 15 on them IMO.
A defensive TD would be great.

Horne will be the third down go to guy. He is too gifted as he can maneuver his body many ways in order to catch the ball. He may not be the fastest, but he gits 'er done.

My guess is we won't be able to run the ball so Steele will throw it 35+ times again. Hopefully he goes off.

There were no holes. The O-line rarely got to the 2nd level, UNI's LB's were filling the holes.

If we throw the ball 35+ times, we are in for a TON of trouble. If we can't run the ball consistently to keep Iowa off balance, we will be in a world of hurt.

KO? I look at him as our Suh. He's big. He's physical, and as long as he can play the entire game while avoiding getting penalties like last year, our line will be able to get its job done.

Both lines have to play a lot better than last week in order for us to have a chance. D-Line will probably have an easier QB to get pressure on, but a harder OL to get by. O-Line will hopefully get a little better now with Hicks back in, but will have a tougher task altogether.

What about the LB they Jake needs to continue to disrupt plays and we need to see a little more from AJ.

Okay - besides the names you listed i will add three:

1. J. Washington - Safety, imo the need for safety run support and at the same time not selling out to allow single over the top is key. Iowa does a great job of forcing the defense to come up only to then send McNutt or Davis over the top. I'm more worried about davis emerging in this game. McNutt will take coverage with him, thus freeing davis up for potential big plays. Our secondary need to make good reads and tackle.

2. Kicker - who is it mahoney, guyer whoever....based on the fact that this team has not allowed a td in like 18 qtrs cuz i dont count that mop up td last year. Our starters need a td but if we stall we have to convert points....points are points.....cannot make mistakes in the kicking game....Ask UNI or Penn State.

3. Darius Darks - had to sit out a huge game against an in-state opponent. He's back and will be hungry...I'm predicting a huge game out of darks from slot to outside flat routes getting him away from the strength of this defense (linebackers). IMO we need to get our wr on the outside and force matchup problems with them trying to cover up a wr with a lb just as we did in 2008 when Bates got loose down the sidelines.

Theres my list - one guy that everyone knows does a great job, but in this game field position is huge. If Kirby can have a good day pinning them back that helps wally get aggressive.

I don't know if this is true being on a bum ankle. I watched him getting eaten alive by UNI last week before getting pulled. He has very limited mobility right now.
