Looks like the wind was +4.2, over double the legal limit for the record to be official.
I think the bigger question is if it was hand timed or FAT. With them running the opposite direction, I assume its hand timed because I doubt they have a finish line camera down on the other end of the track.
Assuming hand timed, the converted FAT would be 10.22.
Converted to the largest legal wind aided time (+2.0) and it would be 10.31.
Converted to zero wind and its 10.40.

Don’t get me wrong, its incredibly fast regardless, but if you want to compare his time to Usain Bolt, at least keep the measurables the same. This kid is still blazing fast as his previous, legal personal best was 10.22.
Lets not forget, Adam Haluska has the Iowa HS record at 10.1, hand timed, with a gail force wind at his back.

Wasn't comparing his time to Bolt. I said he builds speed through the race like Bolt.

Even if it was wind aided, that was pretty damn impressive. Loved the crowd reaction when they showed the time on the video board, made me flash back to running the Drake Relays back in my HS glory days.

if you pause it at 11 sec you see the camera on the post. most larger high schools in iowa have a finish line camera. I know every CIML meet we went to in HS they had one.

Wow, you are right. I assumed they wouldn’t move the camera from the actual finish line to the “start” line since they ran it backwards.

Ok I'll say it... the white kid?

Wasn't expecting that. Unreal. He ran a 9.98, Bolt's world record is 9.58.

It's possible. I saw a white kid run a 10.8 in the 8th grade. (down in Texas). He looked like Billy Elliott and ran with his mouth open too.
