A question to any Baylor fans checking in on us

This sounds exactly like the desperate euphoric delusion that comes from a team that is currently having unprecedented success. It is not a reasonable conversation when you think nothing can go wrong with your program.

Who said that? Hell, our program is screwed this year if our starting QB gets hurt. There are a number of things that can go wrong. However, Briles leaving is not one that I am concerned about.

That's fine to "not be concerned about it"...thats not how you're coming off. Your posts come in so definite, and then you complain when other people call you out on your delusion. The fact is that any team not named Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, USC...and a handful of others...is subject to a coach moving on. Just the realities of not being a "destination" job. Yeah, Briles might be unique in that department, and he might be a state of Texas man through and through, but Texas hasn't come calling (yet) and it is pretty delusional to think there is no way he will be persuaded.

I don't care how good you are, I'll always hate Baylor after last night. Absolute dickish running that kickoff back instead of running out of bounds and killing the clock. **** you you baptist *****.

Agree with the poster above me, Baylor was being super classless the whole game. Baylor fans are proving themselves classless as well in this thread.

So, basically, 99 problems, but a Briles ain't 1?

For **** sake, shut the **** up already. We're a D-1 team in a BCS conference. If we want them to not run up the score, then it's up to us to stop them. Quit whining like it's a ******* Pee Wee game. Stupid *******.

Amen to this. Its division 1 football. It is not baylor's responsibility to stop themselves or to play 90%, especially when theyve got an uphill road perception-wise where they almost need to run up the score on bad teams like us.

Running a standard return isn't running it up. If we'd thrown in a wrinkle like a reverse or throwback pass I could understand the hate but it was simply a standard play. It's like not stopping a dive play. It's the expected call and its not like we ran trick plays in the second half.

Bowl eligibility.

Briles is huge on having something to play for every game. Against KSU, it was revenge for 2011 in Manhattan. WVU, it was revenge for 2012 in Morgantown. For you guys, it was two-fold---revenge for last year, and bowl eligibility. Against KU, it will be making up for that disaster of a performance in Lawrence in 2011 in what Briles calls "The greatest game no one saw."

People forget that as recently as 3 seasons ago, this was a huge deal for us.

I guess we'll have a little ( LOT ) motivation for next year in Ames. Most our team will be back and they won't soon forget this score!

Until the investigation strips it away...and only saying that because of how incredibly obvious it is in hoops.

The NCAA spent two years giving all our programs a colonoscopy-and only found mislogged texts. (that aren't even a violation now)

SAME as Hoiberg just got dinged for.

Only the same if the game yesterday was a tie. The order of magnitude between the amount of impermissible contacts is mind blowing.

Programs with no history, no fan support and coming fresh off of murder cover ups land blue chip recruiting classes all the time. Please. I can see it happening in a legit way in football, your coach is a legit top 5 coach in the nation and you're in Texas.

In basketball your guy is the opposite of a coaching genius to put it lightly. Self, Hoiberg, Kruger or Webber all would have won the Big 12 with the talent you had on an "NIT" squad last year. How any recruit looks at Pierre Jackson's senior season on a loaded team and picks Baylor without being paid I could never imagine.

Btw I thought Baylor fans said there were no seats under that tarp?

@DavidSmoak: Baylor AD official told me they would need to sell 1,700 by this Friday to consider taking off the tarp for the November 7th game against OU

I'm SO PROUD that ISU was the team that finally made them get rid of the tarp! We made seat hiding history!

That tarp comes off, and Baylor will be demonized for the rest of the season.

I wouldn't mess with it, they're on a roll, turn away fans if they need to, keep the tarp. Seriously. They take that tarp off and they lose because they got cocky.

In all seriousness, even though they cheat in basketball, I really want Baylor or Oregon to put the smack on Alabama in the NC game (hopefully FSU loses a game).

You have the false assumption that BU landed recruits right off the bat. It took FIVE years of building the program to get the first contested hot prospect. I can go recruit by recruit if you want but it didn't happen overnight.

1b- There was no coverup of a murder. It was a coach covering up that he independently paid tuition for a walk on player. Bliss was so on his own with it that the two players he paid, the other one he did it for didn't even know. He had thought he was on scholarship.

Please. I can see it happening in a legit way in football, your coach is a legit top 5 coach in the nation and you're in Texas.

You overrate the talent on last years team and ignore the fact that if even one or two games break the other way we are in the dance.

I for one am happy for baylor however cant help but remember that Kansas was a pretty good football school for a year or 2 and now look at them. Baylor will be baylor forever. You cant run away from it. Thats why they are building a stadium with half of the capacity that it should have. But good for them.
