The guys that usually trot out there during the first drive are Lenz, Horne, and West right? Technically Gary is second team still?

Seems weird to me too. I figured he'd be in the top 3 for receptions this season. I wonder if the emergence of Chris Young this season is taking away from Gary's playing time. Young kind of came out of nowhere after hardly contributing in 2011.

Obviously the QB's are having trouble getting it to the WR's, but even taking that into consideration Gary has been almost invisible this year. I thought he had a shot at being the leading receiver this year but I'm guessing his off the field issues have taken a big toll on him.

Probably not better than what we have... same story it has been over last few years.

Never thought we'd be missing a redzone threat like Money Reynolds so much.

People fought me all year on this but Reynolds was far and away our best WR last year.

With that said, I'm not surprised that Gary isn't our top WR, but 5 receptions? 1 game with over 10 yards receiving? Seems crazy to me for a guy who finished last season pretty strong

I will say it hurts when your quarterbacks have their decision made before the snap on who they are throwing to. Our quarterbacks are the worst, in my recent memory, in looking off their hot reads or first option.

Our receivers are not good but a receiver is useless if the ball is not getting to them. I am pretty sure JB has been going to hoops practice with Fred given all the bounce passes he is throwing.

Steele has only lost one game - let it ride on the kid the rest of the season and see what happens.

Blame the QB's but I agree with 85. They were the same guys that were throwing to Gary last year and he ended the season very good. Not sure what happened in the offseason.

Seems to me he is rarely even on the field. Any idea on # of plays he is on field vs not?

After a few games last year, thought he had speed and a nose for getting open and getting the ball. Expected he would start this year. Maybe his play has suffered due to off-field distractions, or maybe he's being punished. Or maybe, he's just not really any better than the others.

My impression was that he would take some time adjusting--after going to court last summer and getting screwed over by Story County for a simple prank.

Am I the only person that would rather we just played 4 or 5 receivers a lot instead of platooning 10-12 of them? If someone gets tired obviously sub them out, but obviously our offense has not been effective at all with this strategy so far.

It seems like this strategy makes it difficult for a #1 receiver to emerge and makes the WRs wildly inconsistent.

That's ridiculous. Each point you made. Time adjusting to football, even though he's already seen the field....because he had a couple court dates? Getting screwed for a simple prank? Really? My definition of a simple prank and yours are a little different.

Agree. Same with running backs. Other than situational stuff (it's always gonna be Woody on 3rd and short or goal line) I wish they would keep guys in the game long enough to get into a groove.

10-12? We've only played 7 WR's

No, because of living in a halfway house while going to school--and being saddled with a pair of felony convictions at age 22. For what was a prank. A stupid one, but a prank nonetheless.

Your idea of a prank and my idea of a prank differ greatly. I don't know that I've ever taken part in a prank where felony charges were a possibility if caught.
