Amaker lasting as long as he did is almost more perplexing than Alford.

Amaker had ZERO NCAA tournament appearances...that is amazing.

Yes, Steve can replace Amaker.

Weren't they on probation for a few years of his tenure? Either way, though -- awful.

Edit: Just checked. Nope.

Amaker is one of the guys who was all hype without much substance. I remember when the Michigan job first opened up **** Vitale was really pimping it up for him, primarily due to the fact that Amaker is a Duke protege.

That's 2 Coach K proteges who have flamed out at the major college level. Snyder and Amaker.

2 Duke projects flamed out, great choice of words!

Amaker is one of the top five recruiters in the country. He consistently pulls in top 50 high school players to play for Michigan despite Amaker never making the tournament. He would be a great assistant/recruiting coordinator for any program. Plus, the local Ann Arbor Gap will suffer a huge shortage in the sales of turtlenecks.

They could hire that big, heavy announcer from Utah. The one bigger than Mangini.
