that the ISU/Iowa game does not benefit Iowa and is a lose-lose situation for them? Except for the two year under Chizik (and we won one of those games), and the years under Walden, this has been a great rivalry in football. I am sick of hearing it, I think ISU helped them last year to the Orange Bowl since they beat us 35-3 and we went to a bowl game. I think they hurt us during the last few years of Fry and first few years under Ferentz as they were terrrible. I am not saying we have been outstanding since the McCarney years, but neither has Iowa, in fact there were several years between 1995 and the present that we have been the better team. We go 11-1 next year and they go .500, and "this rivalry does nothing for ISU."

Have there been Hawk fans saying that lately? Maybe you could point us to where it's being said.

That's true, but so did the other 9 wins Iowa had in the regular season. Miss on one of those - and there were a lot of close games - Iowa doesn't go to the Orange Bowl. If you want to go the "beating ISU helped Iowa get to the Orange Bowl" route, then you should probably say the same thing about the wins at Penn State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.
