I can't believe how many think their fans are like ours. 2nd worst fans I've encountered outside of Iowa City. BB worse than FB to be fair.

I’ve never been impressed by their fan base either. A ton of their fans came to Ames in 2019 and talked smack to Iowa State fans, then got it thrown back in their faces and left

Mother in law got us tickets today. I farm on the side so I wasn’t ecstatic about this. I am always up for a good time and a Cyclone W regardless.

He said “EIU”?
Beat me to it. That makes the whole story very suspect.
I think you guys are reading it too literally. He probably shouldn't have used quotes if he wasn't completely quoting the guy. I don't doubt the story one bit since I have encountered hawk fans who have bought a big 12 opponent's shirt at Walmart so they could troll ISU fans at JTS, JHHC or at a bowl venue. They generally pair the shirt with a Fred Flintstone hat though.

Any suggestions on hotels?

It's expensive to stay in Manhattan. Topeka is just 45 mins east. When we lived in metro KC, we stayed Friday nights in historic Council Grove at the B&B 30-minutes south of MHK. If you have loads of money, I suggest the Marriott Courtyard at Aggieville, the Bluemont at Aggieville, or the Hilton Garden Inn downtown.

When you drive to Manhattan from the north, take Rt 99 south off of Rt 36 through the Flint Hills to Rt 16 into town across the Tuttle Creek dam. It's a pretty and interesting drive and so very aggie/K-State.

I recorded that game and watched it later because we were at a family function. I avoided social media for spoilers and started watching it at about 9pm.

My wife hear from upstairs when it got to the final drive. She had seen Facebook already. She came down and gave me a hug.

That's the most utterly ticked off I've ever been about a football game.

The play in discussion.

Snyder walked about 10 yards onto the field and stood there with his hands on his hips. I was like, "Yep, he's gonna intimidate them into picking it up. Again."

Have gone the last four times and not great memories:

2013: Destroyed
2015: We stole defeat from the jaws of victory (KSU fans were congratulating us....then we decided not to kneel)
2017: Lazard assaulted no call and 3 flags on KSU picked up in the 4th quarter
2019: Windiest football game I've ever seen. We didn't want to be there.

Each time we say we're not making the drive again but my guess is we'll be there.
I love your comment...."then we decided not to kneel"....NO we sure didn't our IDIOT COACH decided to do what was on the paper in his hand so that THE WILDCATS COULD WIN ANOTHER GAME.....

The one and only good thing about that game... was that Pollard Finally Got RID OF PAUL RHOADS!!

So, I can't imagine even a Wildcat fan, if honest, would dispute that there was interference. But the most aggravating factor here was that the head ref, Smith, single-handedly over-ruled the pass interference call when he was at least 40 yards away and almost certainly did not even see what happened. He just knew that he had to pick up that flag, regardless. I'm glad Smith moved to, I think, the B1G. It seems there are just no real consequences for almost any mistake or even blatant bias on the part of a ref. That's just wrong.

Surly is telling the truth here. Maybe I'm biased because I was born in Manhattan, lived in the area for 6 years, and have a lot of family in the area, but I love the Flint Hills. Just went to a wedding in Olsburg, KS out in the country last weekend and stayed in Manhattan. Took KS-16 and Carnahan Rd out to the countryside - very pretty.

The Flint Hills are nice, especially the further south you get, but he is way off about Manhattan being expensive and I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Council Grove.

If you don't want to pay to stay in Manhattan you can hit the Hampton Inn in Junctiin City and it's literally 10 minutes away.

And if you were going to drive all the way to Topeka to save money you might as well drive the extra 20 minutes to Lawrence.

Manhattan is okay for a game, but I would suggest some pre-game at So Long Saloon and a donut from Varsity Donuts and leaving after the game. It makes Ames look like Chicago.

I just bought tickets please help me with parking k-state bros. I don’t care to pay and don’t mind a walk. Also don’t mind chugging a few prior to getting into game at my car

There are huge pay lots at the stadium with tailgating. You will most likely be in the grass lots across the street and it will be a 5 minute walk max. Go to the stadium and follow the parking signs. I think it was around $15 the last time we went.

I you, I'd park in private lots across from the west parking lot. There are homes and churches that park for $20. You can tailgate there, then walk through the donor's lot into The Bill.

This image doesn't want to load. But the upper right corner is the soccer field, baseball stadium, and then patrons' lot. Across the street (College Avene) are all kinds of private parking spots. Park there and walk over to the stadium. Twenty bucks. And a great place to tailgate with other ISU fans.

So, the parking you guys need to grab that ISU Saturday morning is across the street from the baseball and soccer stadiums on College Avenue pictured in the upper left corner here.
