Its only been a couple of months, but so far are you happy with him? With the recruits he and his staff have targeted? With the interviews hes done so far? Does his religion throw you off at all?

I'm happy. The recruiting news has generally been pretty positive.

Very pleased so far with the players he is targeting AND getting to visit. It is a rather unique class in that there are so many spots to fill. Maybe he won't be as hands-on going forward but I really like how active he is so far.

I was just thinking today how pleased I was with the first few months of his tenure. Granted he could strike out on all these guys and it would leave me feeling differently.

Let's not forget he also did a GREAT job in keeping the team together. He also put together a very good staff IMO

Between keeping TJ on staff and his seemingly relentless recruiting I'm satisfied. I'm really hoping that he has that Buzz Williams type of recruiting motor.

Keeping TJ, getting Carter & becoming the front runner for Simpson have all been great.

I think we hit a home run. He's the right guy to build off of what Fred started. I don't think he could have rebuilt Iowa State like Fred did, but I think he's a true college coach and he has similar attributes as Fred to keep the momentum going.

Step 1, Solidify and keep team intact..... Check

Step 2, Put together a good staff with HS recruiting ties.... Check

Step 3, Add immediate depth for 2015.... Check

Step 4, Recruit a great class for 2016... Too early to say, but signs are pointing to success

Step 5, Have a great season and a nice post season run.... Way too early to say

Thus far he's looking like a great hire.

Not sure how anyone could realistically complain about anything. So far this thread supports that.

Entirely too early to tell if I'm happy with the hire yet, but since the question is are you happy so far it's got to be a yes. Really he has said all the right things to the media, retained and attracted a good staff, and has already put out a ton of offers for next year while getting a solid and much needed player for this coming season. He's definitely hit the ground running, but I still want to see him coach a few games before I start chugging KoolAid.

Seems to be saying all the right things (and I think genuinely so), and it feels like the short term transition has gone as smoothly as one could hope for from his and the players' standpoint.

He's going to naturally live in Fred's shadow for a bit, but I'm curious to see where things are in 2-3 years.

He needs to make it far with Freds team, but then there will be a big overturn and it will basically be his team. But take the momentum and keep it going, he's on the right track though.
