Bored so kind of looked up some stats on Arnaud and really it would seem Arnaud is having a down year. His stats on the year so far are... (per espn with some math)

1082 yrds 8 tds 4 int
389 rushing 6 tds

Then I was looking at all the games...taking out the Iowa game..

1003 yards passin 8 tds 0 int

That looks alright. I think we were just expecting big time stats when we were predicting things before the season but with A-rob averaging 109 yards/game that has helped bring it down. Besides that Iowa game it's hard to argue those numbers. Plus the 389 and 6 he's done on the ground.

Completion percentage should be a lot higher given the defenses he's faced but I agree. His stats overall aren't too bad. The rushing stuff is really helping him out and he's quietly been very productive in that regard.

Yeah that I didnt add up but before this game he was about 53%. Which definetly needs to be higher.

Completion % should absolutely be higher if anyone is to consider him a good QB. He runs an offense with lots of short passes and screens!

I wouldnt say KU has a better oline. I would argue the opposite.

I would say that our defensive front 7 is the worst of all BCS conference schools .. and by far.

Yea, i dont mean that KU's oline is good, just if any team has that kind of blocking(i know our d-line sucks) its hard to lose.

And man, Mahoney messed up 5 points(3 kinda the center/derrick smidgenhall) which wouldve tied it, and We WOULDVE tied. Thats what we deal with all the time, haha. WOUDLVES. COULDVES. SHOULDVES. :(

I wouldn't say its the worse but its damn near close. We have 3 senior LB's this year and I would say the only one we will miss would be Smith and that may even be a stretch.

I love all of our players... but we lack so much athletic ability and its not even funny. Its amazing how far behind we are in terms of defensive front 7.

The thought of 5 of our 7 front seven are seniors (if you include Parker) is scary. Replacing them with guys on the bench who aren't good enough to play now is really scary.

WOW. on this i just looked at the post edit... arnauds stats without the iowa game... heisman winner!!!!!

If Arnaud could have had a decent game against Iowa his numbers would look much better. After todays game I would think his percentage numbers would go up a little bit and in future games because when your'e hovering around the 50 percent mark something isn't clicking.

This IS his third offensive scheme in four years(assuming redshirt) and only the 6th game using the last scheme. He did appear much better this game--was that because he was that much better or was Kansas one of the poorer pass defense teams we have faced this year?

I know(getting off topic) that many people thought our pass defense had improved after the NDSu and Army games--when in fact, neither one of those teams had good passing attacks to begin with.

How come that damn slot receiver ALWAYS kills us for big yards? Seems like every game there is a blown coverage by the LB's or DB's. I think we might need faster and smarter guys.

I dont see it as blown coverage as much as lack of that quick speed. The other receivers can beat us to the spot and it kills us.

Stats can be deceptive...especially early in the season. However, the only real "stats" that matters for a QB are those in the "W" and "L" columns behind the team's name.

I did not get to see the KU game yesterday and the only highlight I saw was Reesing throwing the game winning touchdown. But I read this in my morning paper in the game recap "Iowa State's Austen Arnaud, scrambling on a fourth-and-9, had Darius Darks in the open in the end zone but overthrew him with a minute left and the Jayhawks (5-0, 1-0 Big 12) held on." This from the AP.
