Dude is from Texas, HS coach in Texas, College coach in Texas. I'm guessing he stays at Baylor, or goes to.......Florida. :jimlad:

Seems reasonable, with the RG3 ties, there is no learning curve with the offense for RG3, and its his team.

Guess it comes down to does Briles think long term, high level success is sustainable at Baylor. Given the location in Texas and the run and gun offense they have seems pretty sustainable ,kids gotta wanna play in that thing. Throw in the commitment to facilities, seems like a no lose for Briles to stick around.

But coaches have ego's and to coach one of the cornerstone franchises in the NFL may be too hard to pass up.

Is Briles a Cowboy fan? that might tip the scales in Baylors favor.. :)

Seems like a very similar situation to Fred Hoiberg. Yes, the professional teams will likely have interest, but the ultimate question is whether the coach has interest in the professional leagues. The are examples of coaches who have jumped to the pros, and examples of coaches who have been asked but haven't jumped to the pros, so it is certainly no given Briles is going to jump to the NFL if offered.

lol, he might be. Briles is more interesting because of the RGIII ties so it isn't exactly the same situation that Spurrier had.

The offensive genius college coach has been tried many times before in the NFL to varying degrees of success. I can't think of any of them that got to coach their heisman winning QB in the NFL though so who knows how it'd work out.
The one at Tampa Bay is a real jewel.

Briles isn't leaving Baylor for another college job. NFL would be the only chance and I don't think he's dumb enough to do that either. Probably at Baylor until he's done.

Danny Wuerffel was on the Redskins when Spurrier was there.

Briles to USC. Although Muschamp is a chump and will most likely be canned, I think USC is the better fit. The PAC12 has much weaker competition than the SEC, and USC still has a ton of talent available to them in Cali. Plus...USC will be willing to break the bank after their idiotic experiment w/ Lane Kiffin.

That mother****er must be sick of Texas.

Briles proudly puts his love for Texas on display. He tweeted after their bowl win that every starter was from Texas.

I bet he doesn't even recruit outside the state.

The nice thing about Arty going to the pros from Baylor is that there wouldn't be any adjustment to paying players.

I don't care where he goes, just as long as it isn't in the Big 12. If he goes to TX they would hang 120 on ISU with all the talent and his desire to stomp everyone into submission.

1% chance he would be interested. Frankly, I want him at Baylor. This conference needs elite teams and he has created one in Waco.

Tell yourself that if you want, doesn't make your comment any less full of it. Name ONE questionable recruit... go!
