I kind of want Missouri to win. Never liked them in the Big 12, but I'd like to see them beat Auburn. Am I crazy?

Nah you're not crazy, I'd like to see it happen, too.

What I think is funny is Alabama fans who want to see Auburn win, then have Bama turn down any BCS game offer that doesn't pit them against Auburn in a rematch, even if that game happens to be the BCS title game.

I'm not even lying about that. There's a 5 page thread on one of Bama's free boards with several people saying they'd rather turn down the title game than miss a chance at a revenge game with Auburn.

Ridiculous as it may be, THAT is a rivalry. Makes Iowa vs Iowa State look like a tickle fight.

I want Missouri to win. Auburn is doing a whole lot of talking about playing for a national title for a team that still needs to beat another 1 loss team who hasn't needed miracles to win their last two games.

Yeah, Auburn has been very very lucky the last two weeks. At most you can say that their play has allowed them to be in a position where luck was enough. I don't see the football gods allowing them to win another one that way. Not that they won't just line up and beat Mizz, man-to-man.

That being said, I'll be pulling for Misery.

Hated them when they were in the Big XII and dumping it. Somehow, I now think it would be hilarious if they won the SEC.

Pinkel for the win. Rub it in with aTm. Then get him a promotion to the pros.

Is there any plausible scenario in which Auburn and Alabama could be matched up again in the Sugar Bowl?

Also, for all the talk about SEC dominance... Mizzou and TAMU have both been extremely successful in the SEC with leaders on their teams that were Big 12 recruits.

Which is why it sucks that we lost two good universities with good athletics departments from our conference.

I think the only tie-in for the Sugar Bowl is the SEC, and the other selection is an at-large team so I guess in theory it would be possible. I think the only way that would be plausible is if Auburn is not number 1 or 2 in the final BCS standings.

I want Missouri to win, and I hate Missouri. I also want Florida State to get overlooked somehow for the Nat'l Championship game due to strength of schedule so they'll be spitting-mad and want out of that dumpster fire of an ACC conference.

That's not a sign of a rivalry. It's just stupidity.

Rivalry = Stupidity a lot of the time.

I'm not saying that they're right. I'm only saying that that rivalry runs pretty damned deep. I doubt you could find a single Cyclone or Hawkeye fan that would say they'd rather pass up a chance at a National Title in favor of a revenge game. But in Alabama?

Seems more like spoiled stupidity to me. They've had 3 titles in 4 years, they don't need another one so they'd just go for revenge
