Aus got her first wnba basket. Now she has scored free throws and a basket! She saw time tonight due to Sue Bird going out with a left knee strain. Go Aus!

My 10 year old daughter idolizes Aus so we got her a Lacey #40 Storm t-shirt for her birthday. Pretty cool. You can go to the WNBA section of the NBA store and buy personalized gear. You can chose the color, logo, sleeve logo, and player name/number. Of course right after that it came out that she was going to play in Australia next year.

The Australian season is in the winter and WNBA is in the summer so Lacey will be back with the Storm next season. Lauren Jackson plays in the Aus league and in the WNBA. Most of the WNBA players also play overseas.

Just like how pro baseball players play winter ball in places like the Dominican Republic and such countries.

Well, except most of the guys playing winter ball are guys in the lower leagues trying to gain experience. WNBA players playing overseas include the best players in the league. I remember seeing an article a year or two ago about Diana Turasi playing in Russia and making like 5 times what she makes in the WNBA.

Well, Aus is such a great role model! She shows that anything is possible. She moved to a different country her senior year. Then, to been offered a full ride scholarship to play at one of the best women's basketball colleges in the nation. Then to become a WNBA player. That is a great accomplishment. She's a great role model for all kids! That is so sweet! :) I hope that she has proved that she is super good last night, that she'll get more playing time. I love watching her play on WNBA live access every game. I think colleges should do that. It's free and you can watch every game online! :)

More Playing Time for Aus

Lacey got around nine minutes in the Sunday June 27 game. No points or assists but did grab four rebounds. Sue Bird only played two minutes (hurt her back).

Hopefully we get to see her on the court some for the game on the July 17th at Minnesota.

He's got to put her in. She has a fan base coming down to see her. It would be a shame if she didn't play. Hopes she will make the rotation soon!
