I was curious as to what you would say is the best song ever, no matter the genre.

I would have to say IMO the best song is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"-Pink Floyd
That song is simply amazing. Curious to see yours.

Good choice. I'm not a big Springsteen fan but his song writing and lyrics are so strong and evocative that he has to be respected as a master of American music.

Simple Man is a great song. I just feel that Free Bird is the definition of "epic".

I'm intentionally trying to avoid some of the more obscure stuff I listen to here. These aren't necessarily my personal favorite songs (although I love them all dearly), as much as I think they are songs that embody some kind of universal concept of "greatness".
