Some of the ISU fanbase is so sensitive. ISU stunk today and we are a bad team, what else did you expect the announcers to do? This game was over after about 8 minutes. The JVB injury sealed on top of that. At least they mentioned how thin ISU was.

This is not me bashing Hoiberg, if McD was here this season ISU wins a total of 10 games. McD set this program back so far. I think Hoiberg has ISU going the right way.

Dude who really cares we will never Win an Ncaa title.. Were in the big 12 so thats all that matters. Think about it this way we have won as many titles as oregon has in football and hoops. thats right 0. its okay because were legit as F. many schools like boise state would kill to have a big 12 team name in front of them. Im happy that we get to at least compete in this confrence. Imagine if we were boise state or TCU. you wouldnt even get a crack at the best......sorry if this dont make sense im very intoxicated go clones baby!!!

Where did I say we "deserved respect"?

Once you read the post and disagree with it why continue to complain and tear it apart. The problem with message boards are people like you, who believe that its their best interest to not only disagree with them, but to rip it with no constructive arguments or valid points. The only thing you can do is cause a problem. Basically you spent 3/4 of your post saying how you have a right to do anything you can to rip my opinion when thats not even the discussion. Why don't you try and go against the grain and be constructive.

You have the right to call me out? And what good does that do? Nothing! You waste your time typing on something I could careless about. I look at people that can disagree with valid points. There might be a reason you get "ripped daily."

So, you believe that because Kansas has been successful throughout the years then the announcers are entitled to calling the game in their favor? You would make a terrible judge. Announcers are there to call it neutral.

Some people come on these boards to do one thing, and one thing only and that is to disagree.

I don't believe we need to win national titles to be "earn" some degree of respect.
I believe we earn to have a game we're playing in to be called fair regardless of our success past and present.

Go Cyclones.

Thank you for proving my point.... what good does it do to call out 2 comments announcers made during a basketball game, were people have responded to your post with support of positive comments made about ISU. Like I said before it is your opinion, BUT, Mitch is paid by 2 basketball conferences and 1 NFL team to to call games... So Im going to go with the opinions of those 3 groups vs. the 6 or seven people on this message board that were bitter after a blowout lose..

Sounds like a personal problem.

So you like being compared to husker fans?

lol what about that is incorrect? We got smoked and KU didn't break a sweat.

Right on brother....I dont think that we could beat KU's 3rd string of players...

When you are the worst team in the league this is what you have to put up with from announcers and the general public.

Wayne Morgan was so bad that he only Won Once in Allen Fieldhouse.....

Couldn't disagree with the OP more. This isn't a league where we should be coddled. We got our butts kicked.

Mitch Holtus is the best in the business in my opinion. He's also a damn good play by play announcer for the chiefs. I'm not even a chiefs fan.

ISU got handled by the soon to be Number 1 team in the country, why the heck woudl they be talking about the clones? It gets old, but if you want announcers to talk about your team you have to show up. Not blaming Fred or the team, the Cyclones are just completely and totally gassed and undermanned.

If they're objective, and we're consistently down by 20, they have to say that we're getting smoked.

I didn't see yesterday's game, since it wasn't on in the library, but I've heard Mitch call ISU games before. Usually, he invents ways to talk about us, sounds like a guy who has actually interacted with the players or at least knows something interesting to talk about.

The trouble comes for an announcer when they try to share something interesting about a player who is on a team getting destroyed. The casual listener doesn't really care about the one losing, and the ones that care already know that stuff.

Objectively, he had to say that Kansas killed us, since it sounds like they pretty much did.

I thought it hit rock bottom when the announcers on Fox Sports called Jeremy Reeves' onside kickoff return "excitable" and one of them told us to "bring out the syrup, because it was pancake time" after a block...IMO it doesn't get much worse than that.

They did give ISU props for being the only Big 12 team to beat KU in Lawrence more than once, and it was 3 times.

Also gave props to the guys sitting in Ames as transfers.

Yep they did. They said the team will look totally different next year. I think they did a decent job. Not much to talk about with ISU in that game. 1st half they mentioned how close ISU was to many wins, complimented the starters basically for having to play 35-38 min per game.

The only thing that really bugged me is how much they kept talking about "brothers" and "twins".

I tell you if the one guy said "And I think there's really only one other set of twins that could possibly be in the conversation.." Just ******* tell us who you're talking about it! He honestly teased that for like 10 minutes.

I agree to a point with many who said we did get smoked and KU performed very well. The comments were deserved. I had problems with the usual production problems - missing a made 3 pointer because they couldn't finish their highlight reel before the second half action started, for example. They fawned over the Morris twins and it sickened me, but I'm sure if they played for ISU, I would love it.

The only issue that I had was when they were raving over KU playing with a key player out. This when they know that Godfrey is not playing and ISU's only experienced post has gone down in the first half with an ankle injury. If you are going to keep score of how they are playing being a man down, make sure you point out it is against a team that doesn't have its best post players and is playing today with practically no bench.

A pretty insignificant beef. I have heard much, much worse.

Your missing the point. I really could care less about the chiefs and how he calls the chiefs games.

I'm more interested in the Cyclones

Not sensitive in the least bit. I brought up a casual point and was just discussing it, NOT being sensitive.

Dude, we got slaughtered. The game wasn't close at all, I have no problem with the announcers, just our play. For the most part the announcers were talking about off subject things trying to keep the viewers entertained, because the game was anything but.

Couldn't disagree more. I don't care if you haven't won a game in 30 years, you call the game fair. That is their job.

Our job as FANS is to say, "we suck, we got smoked, we got handled again"

Kansas fans can say all day that they killed us, I have no problem with that. Just because because we got beat by 20 doesn't mean they needed to say some of those things. I very acceptable thing to say would be, "Kansas showed up and played a great game"."Iowa State couldn't get the ball rolling." "Iowa State racks up more injuries, gets beat by Kansas."

Remember: I'm not nit picking, I was bring up a point that I usually don't here some of those thing from most announcers. Not a big deal, just a thread.

They don't "have" to say anything along those lines. They "Have" to call the game fair.

If not, why not have every ESPN or Big 12 network announcer call their favorite teams' games, that would be awesome for both teams I bet. There wouldn't be any biased opinions or anything.
