Big 12 Womens Rowing

This already popped up in the 'Wrestling' thread but I thought I'd memorialize it the Big 12 thread.

Big 12 schools with rowing competed with C-USA as affiliate members in the past. After this past round of realignment (many from C-USA to American) C-USA no longer sponsors rowing and has moved to the Big 12. The Big 12 conference now have three affiliate members: Old Dominion, Alabama, and Tennessee. These schools will compete along with Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia in the Big 12 Rowing Championships. Oklahoma Gymnastics (M) - Mountain Pacific Sports Federation
West Virginia Soccer (M) - MAC

Wonder why WVU women's soccer team does not play in Big 12. Maybe they have a commitment to finish out a number of years in the MAC before switching?

The women play in the Big 12. The men don't, because the Big 12 doesn't sponsor men's soccer.

Yeah, they even won it in 2013 & 2013 as well as winning the 2013 conference tournament.

On a more serious note, I would love to see the Big 12 do something like this for wrestling.

Too bad ISU doesn't have a rowing team as the beautiful Skunk River would make a great place for a regatta....
