Considering the first month of the season started so slow, realignment talk has still been in the front of my mind.
Here is a tweet today from a guy who’s plugged into Minnesota pretty well. With this and warrens comments Friday night I find it very interesting that it seems the big10 has changed its stance with realignment.

I've said this ever since the B1G went to 14 teams. There is no divisional balance in the B1G and a team for the west always has an easy path. The SEC is able to pull it off because they typically have three pretty good teams in each division and not a bunch of paper tigers.

Not exactly sure.

When did they go 16?

I think we all know that none of the conferences are willing to show their cards until the media circus with the networks becomes more clear over the next 12-24 months. If the Pac 12 deal sucks, I'd expect the top teams to "market" themselves to the BIG and SEC. This, in turn, would allow the Big 12 to pick the best of the rest from the Pac 12 and get to 16...or even 20 if they picked up the whole kettle of fish. The ACC is screwed with its contract...a majority has to depart to break the contract. The GOR with the AC is brutal...not even sure SEC money could pay for Clemson, etc. moving to the conference.

The Big 12 got skewered for this years ago when Baylor and TCU were both in the hunt. Something something “one true champion.” As if playing everyone in your conference was a bad thing.

It’s funny that leagues are moving to 8-9 conference slates while Big 12 has done 9 for a decade and 2 best in CCG without the credibility that’s starting to come with it.
