What i said was that i have heard the division changes being talked about for awhile. I agree that pods don't work with 14 but again I haven't heard anything solid on pods just that the current divisions would be going away fairly soon.#1 doesn't align with #2. You can't do pods with 14 schools.
With 16 schools and four 4-team pods, scheduling headaches are resolved for the most part where you play the other 3 teams in your pod every year and everyone else in the conference twice every 4 years. SEC will be going to this once OU and UT are added.
And while the Alliance has the 3 conferences, those 3 conferences are discussing scenarios where each of the 3 will expand to 16 with existing B12 schools. Whether they actually go through with that is open to debate but it is certainly on the table. The P12 simply cannot go on as-is with using the PACN for their Tier 3 FB inventory and without a CT zone presence. The ACC is desperately attempting to re-do their TV deal with ESPN and the only way they get that done is with expansion. And as noted, the B10 resolves a lot of their scheduling headaches with expansion to 16 while opening up markets for BTN streaming subs.
