We want, deserve, and need the #3 seed. Time to beat the Baylor Bear$ so we get the #3. Getting another shot at Mizzou, on a neutral court, and hopefully not getting homered in the 2nd half would be awesome. I'm fine with the #4 seed if it means we get to beat Mizzou in the championship, but I'd rather just knock them off in the semis and get KU in the final.

I haven't really been keeping up but if we do beat Baylor, won't we tie them for 3rd? And, won't they have the tie breaker over us to get the 3 seed?

Somebody explain please.

Scotty and Chris have been great this year. I will always remember them as part of the group that brought the magic back from the dead.

Are we positive that's how the tie breaker works? I would have figured its the better overall record or higher ranking in the polls.

I thought I read CW read this, or heard it somewhere, or someone on here was spouting off. Could be one of the three.

I believe those are lower on the list. We should have the breaker because this is about performance the Big 12, and with the win over KU we would have technically done better in the Big12 because KU has the best conference record.

If you split against team you are tied against the tiebreaker goes to best record against #1, #2, #3 and so and so on. KU swept Baylor, ISU went 1-1

Way up there

and Mizzou swept us both right? So that's why the KU game is the deciding factor? I'd love another shot at Mizzou, it would be great to be the team that gave them their last big 12 loss.

Hope we beat baylor, would rather have Texas than K-State.

You never know about these things but I'd much rather play K-State.

Texas has more talent (who knows if they'll play like it) and have guards that could get loose on us.

Mizzou would only be relevant IF Baylor and ISU had the same record against Kansas. But since ISU has a better record against Kansas, that alone breaks the tie.

We will have due to our victory over KU

Direct from the Big XII website:

A. Ties Involving Two Teams

II. Each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings, and then continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

Ergo, KU finished #1 in the conference, Baylor was 0-2, ISU was 1-1= With a win, ISU gets the three seed.
