Signing a 6'7" guy that averaged double figures at the wing in the power 5 does not scream desperation. If the guy stays committed after a coaching change and having to sit out a year, you shouldn't question his commitment to the program.

Just want to repost this after he missed the entire season. Really hope Otz keeps Blake in Ames. He's a good shooter and look at how aggressive he is taking the ball to the rim!! That size will be a welcome sight on the court in 2021/22

Almost wished I wouldn't have watched that. Really want even more to see him on the floor in Cardinal and Gold.

I about had a heart attack when I saw this thread bumped. I agree though, adding in Hinson to the mix will be huge for the team next year.

Adding in Blake Hinson, the Wash State euro big, Conditt and Foster would sure make me feel a ton better about the forward/c rotation. These spots are key, we were in the 300s in rebounding efficiency. That's less than awesome.

The guy sounds like an upgrade, and that's all we can really ask for right now.
I don't think anyone sees this addition making us a championship team, tournament team, or anything else, but he's an upgrade with 2 years to play. If TJ plays anything like the game we saw with Fred, then this guy is probably gonna be pretty good here.

It's not like I'm the most optimistic one here about the TJ hire, but this addition looks good. We're getting better already, so hats off to TJ and the young man.
