I don't think we can worse than a 3 seed if kansas wins out. Wouldn't we have the tie breakers over WVU (head to head) and OU (better record against KU)?

Nope, because if Iowa State loses to TCU and Baylor defeats Tech its a three-way tie and Baylor gets the first nod.

Baylor doesn't scare me at all. OU and KU scare me. Let them fight it out on the other side of the bracket. We had the lead against Baylor both games late in the game. And it's VERY hard to beat a team 3x in one season. I'd take Baylor over having to face OU or KU until the finals in a heart beat.

I hear what you are saying about Baylor Brent. I guess I feel like we owe then and personally would like another shot at them. Can they really shoot almost 2X their average from 3 against us again? Wait don't answer that::smile:
I honestly believe we're the better team, and I don't think they can beat us 3X.

I was reading this like Keith Jackson:
Can you imagine the atmosphere at Sprint Center on Saturday night if it's round three of Kansas vs. Iowa State with the arena fandom split in half? Whoa nelly, I've got goose bumps already.

I hope you're right. I'm just thinking about match-ups. With their off the dribble skills and ability to rebound, they provide the 2 biggest problems for Iowa State's defense.

I agree with you Brent. The last 5 games against Baylor have been pretty even.

I do not want to face Texas. I do not want a bubble team desperate for a win and with the name Texas on the jersey, let's say there are many thing$ I do not trust.....

I get why Baylor gets the 2. Why does OU beat us for the 3 in that scenario?

Because we'd both be at 1-1 against KU, so they'd go to record against the second place team and we are 0-2 against Baylor. At least...I think that's correct.

Nice job clarifying the complex scenarios Brent, and well-written as usual. Good point re: OK being tired in the third game due to a short bench.

As well as the biggest problem for our offense with that zone they play.

OU would be 0-2 versus Kansas. I looked up the rule and its a mini round robin if more than two teams are tied. Which we would be 1-3 so that's why we would be 4th.
