There was a bobcat hanging out in west Des Moines a few years ago. Not that surprising to see in s city.

They are small and harmless.

i would be super surprised because Iowa is one of 4-5 states that Bobcats don't live in. Iowa doesn't have great bobcat habitat.

Edit: of course someone could of illegal brought one and it escaped. I just think it could be a cause of false identification.

not to offend you but you have no clue what youre talking about. We even have a bobcat season....starts Nov 5th. along with the other fur bearing species. Also, they are not that rare, I have caught several over the past 10 years and have seen truckloads at the local fur buyer.

Also, to whoever the moron was that said it must be starving and desperate. You also have no clue what youre talking about. You need to read a book or something.

I had no idea that CF had a resident Bobcat expert. I feel better.

I have a video of one on my cell phone from my tree stand a few years back . There about the size of a large raccoon nothing uncommon or scarey about em . Neat critters

I'm going to guess NetFlixandClone was under the assumption that they were still not in Iowa. He probably heard that several years ago and assumed it was still true. Someone stated that they were reintroduced in the last few years. No reason to give him too much crap.

Coyotes make me nervous when I see them when walking the dog, bobcats not so much.
