I thought Boozer was playing really well at the end of the season, really liked his hustle and athleticism. Any thoughts on his future? He is not mentioned a lot on this board so am curious.

Yes he has hustle, and athleticism, but he defense lacks, and his offensive ability isnt quite there. He will likely be a backup to gilstrap, but thats about it.

That doesn't seem to be any different than the rest of the team last year. Doesn't explain his lack of playing time.

Because he doesn't offer much on offense is my best guess. I'm not a coach, and I don't know what happens behind the scenes and at practice. It gets pretty annoying hearing some people with there love fests with boozer.

I wouldn't call it a lovefest. I'm not saying he's the best player we have. But in a sad, sad season like we had, it was nice to see a guy come in and try. He only played 8 minutes a game and averaged the same amount of points as Thompson and Haluska who played twice as much.

I propose a new rule: Can we PLEASE have threads with more descriptive names?

I'm tired of these ones that are like "Boozer". "Vanderbeken"... Give us a little bit on what the thread is about...

I wasn't saying you were one of them, i was just merely mentioning the during the season, it seemed there was a love fest for him. I liked the fact he came out and busted his *** but he just isn't developed enough to get major minutes. Everyone praised his defense, but was his defense really that good? It looked good because Lucca's defensive skill wasn't up to scratch, why do you think Haluska was put in? Defense, maybe if sean would have developed how to shoot with his feet set maybe he could have made some more shots, but clearly he had no intention of changing his style. All I see out of boozer is a bench player behind Gilstrap next year. Boozer's effort in no way beats Petey's effort.

But, in general, Boozer was going to replace Haluska. And Sean was BY FAR our best defender. Hard to take away that guy. And I know there were those that thought that Boozer should have been getting Lucca's minutes. But it's hard to take out one of your only 3 point threats when you lack a slasher to begin with. Teams had to guard Lucca and they probably didn't have to guard Booz.

But I think Boozer had some really good minutes this year and really hustled. I think he can have a real future here if he sticks it out.

Petey worked harder then boozer, how do you know the boozer hustles his *** off in practice too? Could that be a deciding factor. I'll trust a coaches decision over a message board posters about how much playing time a player deserves. Stay Classy.
