Are these on the exact same issue, no. But I guess as long as the money is coming to you, you don't need to have the same view point right? It would appear cheating does pay.

Bowlsby, on Pollard

"To insinuate that games are unfairly officiated to negatively impact a program is irresponsible and completely baseless

Bowlsby, Big 12 Media Days:
Bowlsby took the current model for enforcement to task, saying "cheating pays" in college sports.“[NCAA] enforcement is broken,” Bowlsby said. “ and I think it's not an understatement to say cheating pays presently.”

Bowlsby continued on the enforcement staff: “They're in the battle with a BB gun in their hand. They're fighting howitzers. We have to find a way to make progress on it. It undermines the confidence of the system.”

The commissioner expressed his serious concerns with the NCAA's future, saying, "If you like intercollegiate athletics the way it is, you're going to hate it going forward. There's a lot of change coming.”

Out of context. Those comments at Big 12 media days were made about teams paying players. Not about anything else. Can we move on from this pointless search to blame everybody else for having a poor football team?

They aren't about the same thing, but if money can buy cheating that way, why not in another way? It is not logical to think that if you can buy this, you can't buy that. Same theory applies. It isn't as easy as buying specific wins, but as NBA refs found out long ago. You don't need to guarantee it, just increase your probability. Happens in every sport in the entire world. Every single one. Is that why we suck? NO But it has attributed to a few loses.

Definitely pointed out it was not about the exact same thing. And is it why we have a poor football team? No.

But here's the thing, we struggle. We have very thin margins to win a lot of these games, and yet, we seem to have a lot of these big calls that change the game in a huge way. Would we have won this game? Maybe, maybe not. But it's not crazy to say it had a huge impact on how the rest of the game goes.

And back to the original post. I know it's not on the exact same topic, but this guy comes of say no way does cheating happen and there are no previous points to base it off of. And yet, he talks about how schools probably get away with cheating to get players and it works. Is it really crazy to think a league office would favor getting better teams through the regular season? Not really

Whats dumb with this call is that it wasn't even just a poor judgement call on the field, they had time to "review" it in a booth. They could have decided it was beneficial for OSU to get the TD because we don't want one of our struggling 4 ranked teams losing at home to ISU. Do I think this happened? No I don't. But it's not as if it would surprise anyone if that happened.

Moral of the story...we have a struggling team that has a small margin for error, and the calls never seem to help us. Especially in key plays

All you're doing is reaching for a conspiracy. Blaming others instead of finding the real issue which is playing out on the football field. By the players.

He didn't seem like he even wanted to be there from all the videos I saw.

He didn't. Saw him before the ku tourney game rocking ISU gear. Made eye contact as he walked right towards me, and he was doing the "oh ****, here comes a smart *** comment" look. I just did the nod. He knew. He also didn't look real excited to be going to a basketball game. Maybe he hates ku?

If that one play caused us to lose momentum to the tune of being beat that badly, we are not a very mentally tough team. same thing when Farniok got hurt. Gotta be able to play through these things.

Remember, Bowlsby is a former AD of the Fighting Goldfinches; he's not supposed to like us.

Yup. Probably the whole reason he took the job as commissioner of the Big 12. Just to screw us.
