Hopefully Lanning or one of other starters doesn’t get a speeding ticket, run a red light or jaywalk on the way to the bus/airport. Some folks on this site would probably wanna pull the captainship and/ or have them miss a few quarters.

It's just an embarrassment to the school, to Brian, and ISU football. Even if it is harmless, it just looks bad and dumb. But maybe CMC doesn't see it that way? I hope so.
From now on when anyone thinks of ISU football they'll remember it's the team with the guy that spray painted under a bridge once. Or probably not I suppose.

How have none of you Ames guys not gone down to the bridge to see what's there? There's no way the city has it cleaned up by now being a holiday weekend.
I know a guy who was there skating and he said it was circles, triangles and dollar signs at the skate park. A mom with a young kid skating called the cops but before the cops showed up they had moved down to the bridge. The guy with BP was just taking pictures of his artwork.

When I was a kid the cops did not like to get out of their cars to chase anyone. I think they had a limit of one cop per stupid kid. Nothing like getting excited to arrest college students.

As someone pointed out yesterday, on Yahoo Sports it was the headline. Iowa State starting football player being an idiot, is basically what the message to the country was. You can say all you want how stupid it was for Yahoo to put that as the headline, which it was, but yet it was reality.

There will probably be signs at KSU today ridiculing Peavy, etc. It was just a stupid thing to do, period. And it's embarrassing. You can't ignore that fact.

I'm sure CMC will be punishing Brian in some way, but he'll handle it "internally" like KF does over in IC.

Wherever I go, there I am.
what a loser
Respectfully disagree. This is slightly different from a noise complaint, a parking ticket, or "get off my lawn". I don't think Peavy should be suspended from playing or serve jail time or anything, but he was defacing property, and college kid or not, he should know better. Sure, many college kids get away with worse--along that cogent line of analysis he should have been smart enough not to get caught.

It was dumb, but hardly worth getting all worked up over. If there is any discipline issued by Campbell, I trust it'll fit the crime. It just doesn't strike me as being that big a deal, and I think any rational person who read about it on Yahoo Sports or anywhere else would probably agree.

Do you ever get tired of being so ridiculously over the top and dramatic?

I don't think the spray painting/tagging warrants much. Running from the cops was dumb. Wouldn't be surprised if he lost the start and maybe first quarter, based on Campbell's precedent when he suspended Lazard, Cotton-Moya, and Park for a quarter at KU last year for being late to breakfast or a meeting - something that could've been 100% kept behind closed doors but Campbell showed his stance on not meeting team standards so their actions and punishment were put out in the public. Now you have an arrest in public and it's in the media, and there potentially won't be any consequence re: playing time?

I don't think Peavy's action by itself warrants in-game suspension/punishment, but let's not pretend this isn't a double standard if he starts after an arrest and three guys who were 5-minutes late to a team function missed a start/quarter.

Agree with this. CMC always talks about how you are representing Iowa State University both on and off the field. Yes, everyone agrees this was a very minor incident (although running from the cops was probably the worst thing about it), but it nonetheless put the school in a bad light nationally. Brian did a stupid college aged thing, but as a football player, as CMC preaches, you are representing ISU on the field and in the community.

*Oh, and you're being SO over dramatic! ;)
