Is it just me or should buckley get more playing time, I think he can provide that scoring spark of the bench(for example at Iowa he came of the bench and scored 2 straight lay ups)

What does everyone else think?

He has to reduce his turnovers. He tries to do to much.

I heard he is having trouble picking up the plays and remembering where to be. Once he picks that up he will see more playing time.

i noticed in the game yesterday, we were down about 12-6 or so and buckley and Boozer came in. they both played agressive D especially Boozer and when they got the rebounds and steals Buckley pushed the ball up the court and we got some quick buckets and we went on something like a 10-0 run with them in. i really like the way they play and hope McDermott plays both of them more.

But he tries to make plays happen. He is not afraid when he is in there and to me, he appears that he has something to prove every time he comes into a game.

Plus DG is averaging nearly 3 TO's a game, so it isn't like Buckley is playing behind a guy that never turns it over. Buckley should get 10-15 minutes a game

3 a game is not that bad considering the amount of minutes he plays and how much he handles the ball.

Buckley is a pretty good defender, and a great distrubuter. He's also the second best penetrator on our team behind Diante. He has had some trouble picking up the offense, but once he does, look out. I think by the end of the year, he'll have the majority of Petey's minutes.

I'm assuming you mean Buck? :)

Speaking of Boozer,..I know his brother is pretty busy this time of year but has he been spoted at any games yet?

No one is going to take the majority of Petey's minutes. Why? Because he is better than Buckley.
Right now, he understands the game, and offense better. In terms of talent, buckley is light-years ahead of Petey. (No offense to Petey, I love the guy.)

This paragraph looks like something that would find it's way onto the tonight show, or maybe it's just my dirty mind.

Seriously +1, I agree completely.:notworthy:

No doubt Buckley is more athletic. Petey knows the game much better, and is a much better shooter. I think Buckley will more likely start taking the minutes Eik has been getting.

Petey is a great example of how hard work can make up for a little less natural talent. He's pretty well peaked as far as what he can do for the team. That's not a dig on him, helping players reach their potential is what the coaching staff is there for. Petey is nothing if not coachable.

Buckley on the other hand has boat loads of talent, probably more than he realizes at this point. He just needs to learn how to reign it in and focus it. Petey has found his niche and everyone knows what it is, Buckley still has to find his. He'll be a starter when he finds it, whether that's this year or three years from now is the big question mark with him.

I think you can say that about other young guys on the team as well. Once they find it and figure it out they will see the court more.

I know Wes is trying hard, but he looks in way over his head lately.
