This situation also reinforces the point that weekly depth charts are useless. You know, I can see the point of not letting your opponents know your injury situation; but what the heck is the point of releasing a depth chart with multiple players listed as “starters” when the coaching staff knows they aren’t able to play, or even dress. Just don’t even do a depth chart, if you’re going to approach it that way.

We're missing arguably our top 4 LBs. Think if we were missing our top 4 WR. How bad would the WR group look? Pretty damn bad.
Speaking of our WRs... I was surprised so see walk-on Carson Brown out there., over guys like Overby, Kai Black, Michael Parkes, Brett Eskildsen, etc. I get not playing Overby or Eskildsen because you want to redshirt them, but what about Black and Parkes? Are they just not good enough to beat out a walk-on?

And where was Isaiah Alston? Did he even play?

On the call in show post game, Williams and Newell thought we would either play four down or move Freyler to LB or both
I'm for both. 4 man front, at least against Iowa, should happen. Freyler would probably be a damn good LB. We have plenty of safety depth to make that switch.

We really need standardized weekly injury reports. I know some conferences will start doing it for conference play but it’s needs to be across the board. It’s ridiculous a coach can hold a press conference days before a game and say they are healthy and then not have 2 OL and 2 LB even suit up.l becasue they are injured.
CMC would probably retire if he was forced to provide an injury report.

Eh, the difference between scholarship and walk on talent at ISU isn't much (and never has been)

I hope we get some decent news on some of the other many injuries. I don't know if I've ever felt this deflated about injuries after fall/week 1. We are beat up...
I think a few were held out as a precaution due to who the opponent was. Rather have them further along and ready for Iowa and/or Big12 play.

Alston played, at least a few snaps in the 4th quarter. Parked is injured. Not sure on the other guys. Just not good enough yet to crack the rotation.
