Broken tibia, had surgery yesterday.I was told yesterday no MCL or ACL tear so was hopeful but I don’t think it was ligament related at all and still really bad.

Unless it’s an MCL. Not as severe as ACL"Could come back later this season" (assuming MC is being straightforward there, who knows) and in the hospital suggests a broken bone to me. If you're in the hospital for knee ligament surgery you aren't coming back within this season.
Not sure why they would even rush him if that’s true. Even the best case scenario pushes into January.Google says 4-6 months for a tibia fracture to fully heal![]()
How would a barely recruited walk on be a 2 star?Ironically this is posted in a thread about a walk on who I think was a 2 star
I don't know about Bacon specifically, but it's not uncommon for walk ons to have recruiting profiles, if that's what you're asking. It's purely a matter of if someone in the recruiting service makes a profile for them and they get rated. Last year, for example, there were 42 kids rated 2 star or higher in Iowa (per 247), and a good chunk of those did not have scholarship offers. How would a barely recruited walk on be a 2 star?
I looked and couldn’t find a recruiting profile on him. Only thing I found was a Register article saying he only had offers from DIII schools.I don't know about Bacon specifically, but it's not uncommon for walk ons to have recruiting profiles, if that's what you're asking. I think some of those injuries are of the "dinged up" variety.
I think we all need to chill out a little with regards to some guys being injured. Every team deals with this. NC lost their starting QB for the year in their 1st game.
There are posters in other threads who are so panicked, they want to play DB's at LB as if we have no more LB's left.
Next man in. And a lot of times, guys step up and seize the moment. Rocco's a perfect example.
Jake Knott would have used the prosthetic leg as a weapon to make tackles... but might be able to play later this season on a prosthetic leg... so all teams we play this season should probably prepare for him to be out there as a possibility.
Rivals had him without any ranking. Typically when you sign as a walk on at a P5 you get at least two stars. How would a barely recruited walk on be a 2 star?

He’s done.
You don't know $hit about the situation so shuddup
Waddup?Oh. Okay then.
Hey! He told you to shuddup.Waddup?
So best case is he is back for the natty game? Not sure why they would even rush him if that’s true. Even the best case scenario pushes into January.
Broken Tibia. Healing variesAlthough Campbell was not specific on Bacon’s injury, he said the news was as good as could be expected. That coupled with “he will be out for a while” makes it sound like Bacon’s injury is not season ending.
That seems a lot better than a knee issue.Broken Tibia. Healing varies
So true. Our depth is light years ahead of the Roads era.And Campbell has always had legitimate depth in his program. The “next man in” is fully bought in.
Compare to Rhoads when losing a starter to injury usually meant we were f*cked.
ISU may be very lucky the way the schedule sets up. Besides, Iowa there isn't a real tough opponent on paper until WVU at the earliest so it gives that unit time to improve and get better. So true. Our depth is light years ahead of the Roads era.
I guess I look at our LB's as a work in progress at this point. It wasn't a huge position strength last season. Bacon came on strong later in the season but I thought our LB's were inconsistent for the most part.
I'm not giving up on Sadowsky just yet. Ebel seems like he could be good. And I'm anxious to see some of the other young guys (Brezina, etc.)
Brezina was a real stud in H.S. for Downers Grove North (IL). They went to the state champ game last year for 7A. I think he was under recruited and will be really, really good.
