How does the committee determine the "rankings" for this?

So ignorant to think Iowa’s offense won’t be considerably better than last year. See QB alone.
Also, ONLY way we make the playoffs is if we win the Big 12. This is for certain true if we lose Saturday.
It’s more ignorant to assume they’ll change I feel like. Stick to making ****** movies, and let us worry about football there Walt

Disagree.. if they go 10-2 they are a 100% lock for an at large. And any 9-3 B10 or SEC team will always at least be in the conversation
10-2 with a loss to Iowa State probably won’t get them in. Assuming they also lose to Ohio State means they went 0-2 vs the best two teams on their schedule with no good wins.

But a 1 conference loss Big10 team is likely also playing in Indianapolis. Which, Iowa would get crushed in, so they’d be a 3 loss team.

Not necessarily. With added teams and no divisions I wouldn’t think they would have much help in tie breakers.

Their QB sucks again this year.

I'm not sure what to think of McNamara? He looked like total dog s**t in the 1st half Saturday. Boos were raining down in Kinnick on several occasions. McNamara couldn't hit the broad side of a barn on many of those throws. The B1G Network was even putting the camera on Sullivan standing on the sidelines to see if he was going to start warming up?

Then I guess he looked pretty good in the 2nd half, but it was still Illinois State... and they were getting worn out.

So it's really hard to say if McNamara is any good... and I'm kinda glad that all these Iowa fans think he's now Joe Montana out there. I think he's still likely below average.

Not exactly sure.

We.......explain how Iowa is going to win the big 12 when you aren't even in it.

Remember when Tamin Lipsey was out earlier this year. Jones and Gilbert stepped up big and were solid for rest of season. Team came out of that better.

Iowa’s offense won’t be significantly better and the perception will still be the same that Iowa is boring and plays a weak schedule. Playoffs are made for TV. Iowa hasn’t been able to beat a ranked team in forever. OSU, UM, PSU, UO, UW, and USC will always be picked before the Hawks maybe even with one more loss. Iowa is stuck in no man’s land as far as the playoffs. Walt, your hawks are screwed.

So many special teams comment in this thread. McCarney just went scorched earth on that on Kxno. Said one of the national championship teams he was assistant coach at FL had starters play special teams all the time.
If we want our special teams to be better than we need to put our better players on special teams. It isn't rocket appliances we're talking about here.

But, to play devil's advocate, if one of those 2000s Gator teams lost their mike linebacker the drop off in talent probably wouldn't be tremendous. Those teams were loaded with talent and depth we couldn't even dream of getting in Ames. Not really an apples-to-apples comparison.
