I would like to see Carson Hansen get a few more snaps against Ohio. They had him in for a few plays versus Iowa, including one where Carson dropped a pass. Reportedly, he has the potential to be a real playmaker. Lord knows ISU needs more of those on offense.

I will tell you one thing that has always been a constant….our line is never better than “average”. That’s a problem.

I’m sure @Stormin has a great response for this, “just give them 10 more years!”

Don’t you think you should give OL Coach Clanton more than 2 games?

And Campbell hasn’t been at Iowa State for 10 years. This is his 8th year. We have had winning records in 6 of those years.

If they were playing well in practice, they'd be playing right now. Give them time they're still very young and the guys that are playing are not that young.
Gaines & Essex are the two I wonder about most. High ranked recruits, all the physical gifts, fast, etc. They've been here long enough to be on the field if they are any good. Do they not practice hard? Can't block well? Can't run routes? Dinged up? Smoke too much pot? Miss meetings?

I am sure there is a reason, I just wish we could know what it is. Beyond "other guys are better" pablum.

Does anyone want to talk about the talent problem? Or are we going to pretend that isn’t happening?
I think there's talent. Just not giving them a good chance to succeed or they aren't there mentally.

I will go to my grave screaming for counters, traps and true draw plays combined with trying to beat the defense more over the top. You have to penalize defenses for compressing and playing so aggressively.

Yeah who knows. I'd bet there's a good reason. It's not like Campbell is afraid to play young guys because that's definitely not the reason.

I am pretty sure Sama has gotten the ball every single offensive play he’s been on the field for. That’s Jr. High level stuff.

I think our fans are forgetting how badly the extra Covid year is impacting us. We were one of the oldest teams in the country Purdy’s senior year. Well guess what happens when you have 4th, 5th and 6th year guys (and in Breece’s case a third year guy) starting and playing the majority of the snaps? Your team is going to be inexperienced the following year..which we were last year.

Then, the guys who had/gained experience on offense (Hutchinson, Dekkers, Brock, Hanika, Remsburg) aren’t there this year. So while last year was a rebuilding year…unfortunately, given our circumstances, so is this year.

Now, the experience the team gains this year, along with almost an entirely new offensive staff, will pay dividends next year and the year after.

So for all of you who want Campbell fired… (hint: he won’t be)… you won’t be allowed back in the club next year or the year after when we’re winning games.

By the only metric that really matters, isn't the best game we played against them the one we won?
That’s the best outcome. It wasn’t our best game. We had two blocked punts, two picks, and two turnovers in the Redzone.

I don't want him fired. But I don't have to kiss his ... cheeks like some of you.

Like most things, when you're motivated to look for excuses you can generally find them.

I like Noel, but so far other than Higgins our WR room has been abysmal. However, has been one of our strengths in recruiting. Parkes, Gaines, Ngoyi, Essex, etc have all been 3-4 star guys. Why arent they playing? Give them some experience IMO
Higgins was non existent in the UNI game. Noel was big in punt return in the UNI game. Point being, we didn’t need any WRs to step up or show out vs UNI. Then we play Iowa whose strength is their DBs and now our WR room this year is “abysmal?”

I never thought a loss to Iowa, in week 2, with a young team, and a new offensive staff, would send our fans into such a dumpster fire of a tailspin, but here we are.

No one is responding to only this one game and you know it.

And when you’re motivated to see things that fit a negative narrative and negate facts, you fail to see reality.
People are mad about the last two years and haven’t allowed a sliver of time to allow these changes to be fully implemented.
Some say give it more time. Others say show some evidence that things are changing.
