I like our running back group. Feels like we are using Sanders almost exclusively between the tackles. Will be interesting to see how they leverage his speed over time.
I’m guessing they’re thinking that his speed will lead to a long one if he’s given a big hole, but I’d like to see him on the outside too.

Either that, or it’s what Ohio was giving them.

I saw posts in the game thread asking for an outside run. Next one I saw resulted in a TFL, so I thought, “Give people what they ask for…”

Then it must be about to turn Jirehltober.
The other jef sometimes can be a little grumpy.

It is humorous that when ISU is doing relatively well (offense), some people always think things should be done differently.

You know, there is a defense too, some good players and coaches (generally speaking), and they have something to say about how successful we are, or not. For example, Manning is calling some very good O so far, IMO. He still gets widely criticized (not as much as in years past), and some people just have to find a 'bone to pick' even though it's just a small sinew.

The special teams criticism, on the other hand, has merit. This year and over the years.

It's often easier for a speed back to bust a long gain by popping a seam in the middle. They can get past the 2nd level before the defense can react. Wide plays can be negated by the contain defender setting the edge a little wider and stretching the play out to allow guys with persuit angles to get in on the play.

It's kind of weird that particular poster has been viewing threads pretty much every day, but has not posted in awhile.
Good time to post again on this thread? I think so.

An 80% healthy C. Norton showed plenty of flashes yesterday. Two very impressive TD runs, and forced several missed tackles to prove he can be the guy.

The way he cuts in the hole and his burst are both really impressive for a true freshman. We'll see how he develops but I think he has "it".

Also, really impressed with his hands out of the backfield yesterday. Guys with his size at that age are rarely capable pass catchers.

Listen, I want him to succeed just like any other Cyclone, but doing a victory lap after we beat the now last place team in the conference? Have fun with that. Let's see him get healthy and run consistently.
