I trust Hoiberg was very honest and forthcoming with information to Royce.

Believe me, I'm bummed if he does leave. I think even with one more year, he would have became an all time great both on and off the court.

Selfishly, I think he could have REALLY put some positive attention to the program (it's already getting a lot) as a pre-season all big 12...all american? BUT, he also DID come to ISU and did contribute and help put us back on the map.

My only hope is that he was "sheltered" enough and if he got an agent, Hoiberg weighed in on whomever that may be and Royce thought about it and consulted and didn't make a quick decision (seeing the $$$$$ an agent can promise). On the other hand, with a good agent, Royce is the PRIME type of person/personality to secure some $$ in off court endorsements, etc.

I am with Mary Terrell on this one, he will be leaving a lot of money on the table by leaving early. Can you imagine the national attention he would get next season by staying another year?

Am I the only one that thinks he needs one more year to develop a jump shot?

No, I do too, but if CFH is hearing from his NBA contacts that RW is a surefire 1st round choice even without a consistent jump shot, then what does my opinion matter?

Ejim will need to improve his hands more than 3 point shooting. He can't catch the ball worth beans.

Yup. Until he shows he can catch the ball near the hoop without fumbling it, I'm sticking to calling him Melvin "Roberto Duran" Ejim. (Duran as in "hands of stone.")

Why? Are his future coaches incapable of teaching him how to shoot a jump shot?
There is a select few good coaches in the NBA, truly there are. When has the NBA been about the coaches and not about the players?

Fred couldn't teach him a jump shot in 2 years. And as Fred himself says, "Royce's stock is high right now."

Alright I'm going stop blowing up this thread with Ejim talk. I concede he does and should always suck and in no way improve ever at 3pt shooting.

Im just looking at this objectively, not the biggest basketball fan, but have watched every game. He does a couples things great for a big man (ball handling and driving the ball), a few things good (passing) and a few things that need work (jump shooting and free throws).

I don't think Royce cares about how much money he earns right now, he just wants money to support his family. He will dominate throughout his first contract and get more money when he signs his second.

In speaking of the NBA draft, this has to be the most watch draft in a long time with a ton of great prospects including Royce White....

He is already one of the great passers in the college game.

NBA is all about potential people.

That do not give a rat's *** if he has to develop a jumper. They will work on that.
