I will be studying in Chicago for a semester at Roosevelt, so instead of starting a new thread I'll ask the question here: What are some good places for a college student to go in Chicago?

Define "places." Restaurants? Bars? Clubs? Museums? Stores? What kind for each?

Restaurants and probably entertainment. Or anything else that is worth mentioning that is not too hard on a budget.

I'm good with everything and willing to try anything. Trust me, I'm not picky.

Sorry, got busy last night. I'll first say to familiarize yourself with the metro and bus systems so you won't spend tons of time figuring out how to get certain areas.

I'll respond with more later, but I'm going to start with some Vietnamese food. There is an area north called Argyle Street filled with asian restaurants and places, but mostly Vietnamese food (and into Broadway). This is good Vietnamese, most restaurants like Tank Noodle have TONS of menu items (like over 200 or 250) and it is all cheap. I'm talking about $6.50 for a giant bowl of Pho at all these places.

You can get there by the Red Line at the Argyle stop. It stops right there. Get off, and you're hit with a lot of places and Tank Noodle (for example) is on the corner of Argyle and Broadway.

I completely forgot that my 7th history grade teacher was a die hard Iowa State fan. He would make us write sentences if they would lose and double if they lost to Iowa.

Was in Chicago last weekend and I wore and ISU shirt the night I got there. After only walking down Michigan Ave for about an hour, I had two groups of people give a shout-out to the Cyclones. Seems like a pretty Cyclone friendly area.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. I worked with a girl who went to ISU at my last job. And we have neighbor two houses over that graduated from ISU. You definitely find more Iowa people, but it's to be expected. Iowa City is a lot closer.

Nice to see some ISU grads further south. I live around 20 miles south of joliet, and there aren't much in the form of cyclone fans this way. I met one girl from morris and the athletic trainer at my old high school but thats about it.

I lived in Morris for 2 years and just moved to Evanston a few weeks ago. I met maybe 3 ISU fans there in that entire time.

Oh really? Hm, that's about a mile north of me. I need to check that out. Good turnout usually?

I was at Corcorans's for every game I wasn't in Ames for and the turnout was better than we've ever had throughout the year. CPR enthusiasm and the NE & TX wins seem to have piqued the interest of the casual fan who used to only come out for the Iowa game. Solid end of year attendance the last 2 years (same can't be said for the Chizik years when we could lose to anybody on any day) and you can see optimism is high in the fanbase. Fizz up in Lakeview also hosts gamewatches
