I'm going to my 1st Cubs game at Wrigley Field this Sunday.

Do any of you veteran cub fans have any incite on what I need to do or see while in Chicago?

I'm staying in Glenview; what is the best mode of transportation to get to and from the game? Drive and Park, Mass transit?

Thanks

I *heart* Chicago. You MUST get pizza--I like Geno's East myself.

Enjoy an Old Style for me!

Definately budget some time to go to the Wrigleyville pubs near the stadium before and after the games. Gino's Pizza is also a must.

i live in glenview, take the metra (1 stop at the glen, 1 at lehigh & glenview rd) into union station and the red line out to wrigley. make sure to get there early and have some pre-game beers in wrigleyville; casey moran's, murphy's, cubby bear, you can't go wrong with any of them.

"If they blew up Wrigley tomorrow, it wouldn't bother me at all. That ivy is nasty, the infield grass is waist high, and they definitely have the most vulgar fans." -- Houston Astros outfielder Lance Berkman.

! and that's from Berkman... not the most outspoken or insulting guy...

Hooray for Geno's!! I miss it already! Who wants to have a CF roadtrip to Wrigley?? Definitely take the El though - the red line goes right by Wrigley and it's terrible to find a parking spot down there.

My Cubs experience

If you really want to experience Cub Baseball, you should try to duplicate my first experience. Drive, first time in Chicago, 5 kids and wife in '77 Chevy Suburban. Got within two miles of Wrigley for an afternoon game hour and half before game time. Missed first pitch, traffic. Extra innings, 14 to be exact, so we left during the peak rush hour. Six lanes outbound, bumper to bumper, all going 70 mph. Not the place for a farm boy. The good part, The Cards beat the Cubs, and the kids, all Cardinal fans to this day had a great experience. Go for it!

I actually just went to my first two Cubs games last weekend against the Cardinals and also stayed in Glenview. What I did to get to Wrigley was drove to Evanston, parked in a ramp, and then rode the El to the park (ride the purple line south, transfer to the red line at the last stop and ride the red to Addison). Have fun!
