I haven't checked the Chicago Alumni site, but they have had a few gatherings in the past at the Wise Owl (this is a name change from a few years ago. Don't know if a location has been chosen yet, but the Wise Owl is located 5-10 minutes from United Center; free parking and free shuttle service to the game. Fantastic food and lots o beer!

One strategy is to park at the airport and ride the train in. If your hotel is close to a station, it could work for you. If you're trying to park downtown at all it's usually $40+/night. You should be able to get a bus or train pass for like 5 or 6 bucks a day unlimited?

Won't work for everyone but could save some money.
