at first i just wanted McDermott to save his scholarships for next year, but now i'm kinda leaning towards giving one to Vette

if he wants to play closer to home, maybe he could arrange an alex thompson-like situation..walk on now but go on scholarship later.

He has to condition that he has to sit out at all. He would be just like any of our other incoming frosh. He will not ever dawn the Cardinal and Gold though...

this late in the process, you can bet your balls Lickliter is talking to him right now. wow, that sentence almost sounded kinda dirty...
i'd hate for him to go to Iowa and turn out to be something special

I hope we get him..I like his game and think he could be a solid role player ala Tom Petersen from the mid-80's.

He has publicly stated that he doesn't like McD and why would McD not recruit him at UNI and then recruit him at ISU?
because uni wasnt rebuilding and losing 2-3 scholarship players for 2 consecutive years. what are his reasons for not liking McD...just because uni wasnt recruiting him?

I'm not certain about Vette not liking him, but I don't think his high school coach at W-SR is a huge fan of McD. Evidently this coach used to be an assistant for Tim Floyd at Iowa State and then became an assistant for the coach at UNI before McD. After McD was hired, this guy wasn't kept on staff so I've heard there's some bad blood. I have also heard that Vette does have an older brother that played football for Minnesota so that's been another school thrown around. This is just second-hand info, as I know some people that were Vette's teammates on his high school team, so take it for what it's worth.
