Sorry, I wasn't clear. Do we think we can actually get Frost here at all? (I agree, 3 good years is AOK with me) I had thought he would be on a lot of lists, even at USC/Miami/LSU/ etc.

Or, am I mistaken? Is he in our tier?

He's being loosely linked to the Maryland opening. If that's true, I don't feel good about our chances with him.

I found it interesting that JP said that this program is at a point where someone can take it to another level or set it back and the AD back a decade. I'm paraphrasing. This is a terrible reason to want someone but one appealing thing about Frost is he would most definately change our Unis. Stitt to me is actually a safer hire than most I've heard besides maybe Frtiz..Stitt is an offensive guru I don't think there any doubting that..but Frost to me seems to be a guy that would have an easier time recruiting to Ames than either candidate. I can see Frost hitting the big red state hard and owning it with Nebraska so down. Hiring Frost would really **** off the huskers as a lot of their fans wanted Frost. I do think all 3 interview though.

The wild card here is Leath. He might just offer to bring some funds to the table to get a name nobody would have thought of. In the end...money talks.

I'm a heavy Frost lean at this point. I see the most upside here. OC'ing at Oregon =/> being an HC at some crap conference school like GA Southern/Montana/Toledo/Bowling Green

Not really... especially if you want any fans at your games.

Both of those programs suffer from a fan support perspective and neither one has been any good for awhile.

facilities are better at isu as well.

I'm not familiar with Illinois, but we won't have better facilities than Maryland. At least once they finish their 155 million dollar indoor practice field. That Under Armor money is going to push them near the top of food chain in facilities.

Not exactly sure.
Well if you're gonna do the top hat, might as well throw in the monocle.

What at are we going for? JP looking like teddy Roosevelt or planter peanut? Planter would be easier probably.

Seriously, outside of the hardcore isu guys, who would guess JP to be an AD at a major university. Most would think cpa or irs worker probably.

Are they out of their 36 million annual shortfall?

Can ISU get new uniforms now too? Something with a cyclone on it?
Honestly, our uniforms are pretty solid. In fact, our road unis are very good. I wouldn't be opposed to some of the renderings with the "Trice Stripe" that have been shown on here, which look sharp, but getting different ones just to be different will have us end up getting some cobbled together Pro Combat rejects that look exactly like what they are, a non-elite school trying to jump on the Oregon bandwagon 15 years too late.

On the Stitt hire - why is a guy like that still at Montana? And only one year at that?

Just something that concerns me I guess.

Because everyone is risk averse. He is different does things differently. In other words exact what isu needs. It may fail and we may need to try a few crazy ideas before we get the right one but we need outside the box here.

Les Miles will remain in the SEC. South Carloina and Mizzou will make a huge run at him. I would love it, but that only happens at bizarro ISU.

Leath, Pollard and the search firm did a good job with the MBB search. That is a more desirable job and there were a lot of guys interested, no one that absolutely blew you away, but I think that they made a good decision based on who they interviewed.

The search firm can put out feelers, and use their network to see who is interested. I would really like to see someone with Rhoads enthusiasm, but a guy who has more fun while doing it. Rhoads and CO. are old school. So maybe a young guy like Stitt or Frost that could come in and have fun with it would be great.

I love the attitude that Rhoads and Co. brought in, but he seemed a bit "tough love" which has its time and place, but should be metered out in doses. Give me someone more creative.
As someone who watches Oregon football and has done so most of my life I have not been impressed with Frost at all, in fact he makes more questionable play calls then any Rhoads OC other than Messingham. Of any of the possible candidates he would be the least desirable imo.

Lol at the people talking crap about Ames. Uh, you live in Missoula, Montana. A city the same size as Ames, except in Montana. Don't act like Missoula is oceanside in Southern Cal or Florida.

I don't blame them for smack-talk, it's likely indicative of fear; a need to convince themselves ISU wouldn't interest their coach.

The more and more I look at it, the more I think it will be Matt Campbell. Would mirror the Prohm hire in alot of ways. Young Coach with a lot of Mid Major success, would allow us to retain Ayeni and keep guys on board-like (a la' Otz) and keep some momentum building. (Although not as much as the Bball program obviously) It also probably fits the price range Leathermans and JP want to pay. We are all told then and are being told now that we are going to see them pony up, but end all be all price is still going to mean alot. TS has also been saying he thinks Campbell would take the job.
TS as in Trey Scott?

Intimately familiar with Illinois' facilities. Pretty equal except Illinois has better amenities for the high rollers. Champaign Urbana is a better community BY FAR over Ames, IMO.

I think anyone saying they want to coach at isu right now, probably won't be hired. I am assuming that we have already had feelers to several of our wanted guys already. Those talking probably haven't been contacted.
Like Prohm who was publically stating he thought he would get the job....
