He got a scholarship as opposed to being a walk-on. Doesn't sound too foolish to me.

Go to Mary in ND, play, and go to school for free.

Stay at Iowa State, sit on the bench, pay for school.

Yeah, real foolish. :skeptical:

Didnt think a D2 school could offer athletic scholarships, or is the just D3?

Division II allows as maximum of 10 scholarships for Men's and Women's basketball. An institution can choose, obviously, whether to utilize all of these or not.

Division III has no scholarships for any sports.

EDIT: Here's a good chart showing the diminishing scholarship numbers for Div II:
Scholarship limit comparison for Div 1 and 2

I think Colvin will go to Illinois if McCamey gets drafted. Just a gut feeling, nothing more. :)

I have an eery feeling that Colvin might go to Iowa. McCaffery is ridiculously silent about his recruiting, and we haven't heard a single word from Colvin. That would suck.

Iowa was doing a recruiting dance very early on with Colvin when Lickliter was the coach... I haven't heard anything about Colvin being associated with Iowa under the new coaching regime.

Not so much if he was truly the cancer that some have made him out to be. I think he has a ton of potential but he will need to get his head screwed on straight before he reaches his potential.

That's NCAA, but NAIA can give scholarships.
