It's difficult to have difficult and complex conversations about sensitive topics, even here where you have plenty of space to say what you mean, and even among folks who mean well.
But invariably someone blasts in with aggressive talking points from one side or the other, and it turns into a shouting match which only pushes people apart and prevents any hope of rational discussion.

I have seen people make logical points about things related to media coverage on the main board so it seemed like that could be the case for this also.
I just hope that we as a society are able to see when something is being said that is unrelated to the situation at hand.
For a complicated topic, I agree. But not recognizing what the actual situation is is pretty straightforward though. There is nothing sensitive about pointing out what the actual situation is.
Aside from pointing out what the actual situation is here, I feel horribly for racism that Ms. Boston has experienced. I hope the best for her to receive kind treatment going forward.
I think SI covered the story the way it should be covered. They explained why she was upset and they also gave additional details for why the ESPYs did what they did.
I think that with all the facts, a logical person can come to their own conclusion. I suspect most people in this case think there isn't much to be upset about.
