Could ISU be a featured matchup on Gameday this year?

Huh? Herby tweeted this week they want to bring Gameday to Ames. The Gameday bear predicted that ISU will be the next town to come off the "never hosted" list. Another pundit gave their opinion that they think we'll get it next week. All of these things have come too over the last few days...so yeah I'd say we have their attention!

Next week is an 11:00 kick. I don't see that happening...

Probably not this year but end up 8-4 or something and make statements in the wins, and ISU will be on the radar.

It will have to be a conference game rather than the Hawkeye game because there will always be more interest in bigger non-con games. Just look at Texas ... in 2019 and 2020 they play LSU and in 2022 and 2023 they play Alabama. They also have Michigan and Ohio State scheduled in future years.

They'll be here next year in front of the Sukup Endzone Club on that raised gazebo/stage being built in the new green space.

That's great and all, but there's also got to be a combination of a quality team visiting Ames, both teams having a good record, and a game that's going to move the needle nationally. There's nothing on this year's schedule to foot that bill. Next year it's Iowa, Texas, or TCU. If anything, I could see it in 2 years when WVU visits again.

That is where I am thinking too. That or Central Campus but I am not sure the university would want that many trucks driving all over the grass.

Personally I don't want it for Iowa.

I don't think that area will be big enough. When we finally do host it will definitely be in central campus.

There is a chance for 2018. ISU and Texas need to win all games before then. Both teams would be ranked. IMO the other big game that day would be Cincy vs. UCF. They are both currently undefeated and ranked. I put this in a different thread so it is something I had at least looked at a couple of days ago.

Sadly, as much as I don't want it for Iowa, if both teams are ranked next year, its a pretty strong possibility that will be the one.

On the flip side, that would also probably make the game a prime time ABC game. Man the hype for that game would be epic.

Iowa has a bye week 2 as well, they play Rutgers.

The other 9/14/19 "big" non-conference games that I'm seeing at first glance are
Pitt vs Penn State
Arizona State vs Michigan State
Oklahoma vs UCLA

Conference games with "big" teams:
Alabama vs. South Carolina
Florida vs. Kentucky
Indiana vs. Ohio State

Pullman Game Day - I live in Spokane north of Pullman and today there are reports of single bedrooms going for $400 for the weekend. Pullman has also declared some sort of "public emergency" so they can use the city buses for the crowds that are coming.

Game day is a big deal!

For sure. Probably on the green space between the Campanile and the MU. Shut down Union Drive in front of the MU
I don’t think there will be enough space there. The stage and all the other props would take up half of that area alone.
If its on Central Campus, it’ll probably be on the North side of the Campanile in the huge lawn.
