CPR has 3 more wins in 4 years than Snyder has in 2

Even with their loss tonight. I just find that interesting. I'd like to see a discussion about what makes this possible. Is Snyder really just that good of a coach, or does Kansas State have some institutional advantages over Iowa State in athletics (better strength and conditioning department, perhaps)? Or, just react emotionally and attack me personally in a barrage of censored profanities, I don't care.

Iowa State football has had 4 excellent opportunities to beat Snyder the past 4 years.

Yet, we are 0-4.

Better quarterback. Better OLine. Better coach.

Snyder is just that good of a coach. K-State sucked before he got there the first time and sucked after he retired in the Ron Prince era. He retires and K-State returns to mediocrity.

Snyder is a damn good coach. But how many bowl games have they won in the last 10 years?

Well, you could look at Snyders overall body of work and conclude he is that good of a coach. The guys just knows how to take a few playmakers and make a great team out of them. He's a goddanm wizard out there. I don't think there's anyone who really knows how he does it. His teams, though, are always disciplined and make so few mistakes. I mean really, his whole team's philosophy is our defensive philosophy. Make teams make a bunch of really good plays concurrently. A lot of teams can't do that and that's why our defense has been good from a point standpoint and that's why his whole damn team has been good from a win standpoint. There's just a huge amount of discipline there.

Snyder can not only coach, but has been putting together teams for 20+ years at K-State. CPR will improve at both.

Synder might be in the top 10 coaches of all time. He's that good.

Top 10? Boy, I could make a strong case for number one. The only hangup I have is that we can't tell how he would do at a big time school with high expectations. You look at Nick Saban and he's done it everywhere. Urban Meyer has done it everywhere. There is a certain amount of BS you have to put up with at those schools. Nick Saban probably just tells guys to "**** off, I'm Saban and I will win so you have no leverage." Could Snyder handle that? I don't know. Rich Rodriguez couldn't. A lot of guys haven't been able to. As far as turning programs around, Snyder is measuring stick. He's done it twice.

Bill Snyder has been very successful with talent very similar to ISU. He knows exactly how to use and coach his kids. He, in my opinion, is the best coach of all time. Just imagine what he could do with Alabama talent.

I think Snyder takes a kid like Klein and wins 9-10 games with him (more this year). Where at ISU, probably still win 6 if we had him and he wouldn't of been anything special here. He can take a few players, use them the right way, get a lot out of them, shorten the game, and win a lot of games doing that.

The man invented time.......... or at least was invented himself at the same moment as time - so of course he has was of getting it done. He understands things in the universe because he himself probably helped to create it.

This. The guy just has some kind of magic wand he is able to wave and K-State is good. It seems he just really coaches up the basics, good tackling, good blocking and don't make a lot of mistakes. I hate the guy, but it's hard to deny what he has done at K-State. I often wonder if he would have been able to transfer that success to a National Championship at a school with more football tradition. Or if he was just the perfect fit for a place like K-State.

You are going to have a lot of programs that will compare similarly when you compare Snyder's 20-something year in the program to a coach's first years in a program.

He's a great coach but it is a silly comparison to make. Why not try comparing to Snyder's first four years?

Yup, looks pretty similar.

The other thing Snyder did in his early season was schedule 4 cupcakes in the preseason. He still won plenty of conference games but 4 easy wins definatley helps the win total in down years.

Snyder is a great coach. Also, KSU does have one particular advantage over ISU. The Kansas JUCO conference is quite strong. I think I heard on the broadcast last night that 9 of 11 defensive starters were seniors and that every one of them was a JUCO or a transfer (Brown).

I know this will sound like sour grapes, but I believe KSU's entrance standards for JUCO's is lower than other schools like ISU.

Snyder knows how to use the JUCO system well.

And again, he is a very, very sound coach.
