No, not true. In fact, Randy Peterson at the Des Moines Register said there were rumblings that LSU reached out to Prohm's people and he declined any interest.

If Prohm did interview (he didn't), I'd be HIGHLY surprised that Will Wade from VCU got the job over Prohm.

Ok thanks, the person that told me he interviewed has very close ties to program but I had not seen anything about this. Like I told him if he did it's a good way to get a pay raise at ISU.

CFH has expressed signifigant interest in Drake as well.

Considering the Bulls' meltdown, he might need to adjust his expectations.

He already used his shortcut on the ladder in Ames, after all.

Not saying he's going to a small private school, but that might discount him a little.

That program is a dumpster fire and nobody cares about basketball in the SEC. They had the #1 draft pick last year and the talent around him was so bad they couldnt even make the tourney.
Agreed. The argument made was that LSU is a bigger name and in a better region to recruit. I belive someone even said Louisiana was a hotbed and LSU could be successful if they just recruited their state. LOL. LSU basketball is not cared about down there, and the only time they were cared about was when Ben Simmons was there, and attendance dropped by like 4 or 5 thousand this year since he left. If Simmons can't generate regular interest in that school, very few people can.

Nobody cares about basketball in the SEC? Ever heard of a program called the Kentucky Wildcats? Avery Johnson is doing a good job at Alabama and will make them a solid squad, then there's Frank Martin, who is a good coach at South Carolina. I wouldn't go as far to say that nobody cares about basketball in the SEC. It's definitely on the upswing and Kentucky is one of the most successful basketball schools ever.

No. Nobody besides Kentucky cares about basketball in the SEC. Don't look at tickets sales, look at butts in the seats anytime SEC games are broadcast. It's a good night if the arenas are half full.

Yeah, Grant wasn't doing too great at 'Bama. He was fired at the end of the 2015 season.

Agreed that's a big qualifier, but one of 14 schools having a passionate fan base doesn't do much to prop up the conference as a whole. The SEC, and for the most part the south, will always have basketball behind football and spring football on their list of priorities.

This is true. Living in Nashville I was able to hang around the SEC tournament and 80% of the fans were supporting Kentucky. There just isn't much support for the other schools unless they are very very good.
