It was so Gerogios could get a solid pop from the crowd, each time he touched the ball. What else is the crowd going to get excited about late when the game is no longer in doubt?

Last year we had Big Georges poster. Now we need one for The Greek.

Don't forget the big man had a pretty good sprained ankle during the start of practice.

Does a sprained ankle make you look lost on the court? If that is the case, I had sprained my ankles a ton in high school.

With the recruits Fred is bringing in, redshirting guys really isn't a necessity anymore. I'd honestly be kind of surprised if we see a scholarship player redshirt from this point on.

He has potential but still isn't getting it. Edozie can play without being a liability now Custer will eventually get minutes, Georgos is a year away imo. Edozie and to a smaller extend Custer will get the little reserve minutes we have beyond the top 8 and he (Edozie) has earned them...he was the biggest head scratcher recruit in a while. But now I see what Fred saw.

A middle linebacker or hockey defenseman?

Many ways we can stray with a topic like this.

I think it's preferable to have Custer get some real-game experience instead of redshirting, even if it means fewer minutes "in the shadow" of Morris. What if Monte is 3-and-done (or perhaps even 2-and-done)? Then you'd have Custer with one or zero years of game experience. That's worse than "limited playing time" as a true freshman.

If all players in college basketball were four-year players, redshirting in this case might make a little sense.

I was hoping Custer would have got in witth 5 min left to get him some experience. Tough to take monte out when he is having a career game though

I don't. No way he comes out shooting as hot as he did last year if it's his first game experience.

People don't understand the difference in mindset and preparation when you could play any game vs being told you can't play for a while year no matter that.

I think most kids would just find another school before agreeing to redshirt. Redshirting really messes up their opportunity to transfer later in their career if they get buried on the bench or the coach quits.

[/CODE]06200]I have been out of the loop a little but why aren't they red shirting? Its seems like a wasting a year of eligibility for two promising players if they are only going to play in garbage time when we are already down three players. But I hope Fred proves me wrong.

I think that both of them will come in for selected roles at key times this season.

I don't see any way either of these guys crack the rotation this year, I'm having a hard time seeing where Thomas, Nader and McKay will get the minutes they deserve either. It's a good problem to have though.
