If we were dumping the game, go buy a win.
We won't dump the money, though, so it's pretty moot.

Outside of the rare college gameday visits we got, which was a nice showcase, what other media attention does it bring?Ask JP or Gary Barta what different non-conference game will bring in more revenue and media attention to the programs than the CyHawk; there's your answer on when it will end.
WE ONLY LOST BY 1 THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED BAMA!A bunch of media attention to watch us get rawdogged during our regular September slump by Alabama doesn't sound that inviting.
Maybe back then, but I don't forsee it being worse in todays college football environment.I'm old enough (unfortunately) to remember when we didn't play Iowa.
Not playing Iowa is much much much worse than playing Iowa.
So ... Jamaica?I need a break from this game. Wish we had an interesting every other year away trip to put in this spot instead. Preferably somewhere with good golf and legal cannabis.
Up yours, we won that game. #longlivetonyWE ONLY LOST BY 1 THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED BAMA!
Damn it JM!
Cincinnati, ucf, byu, and Houston should keep you busy for a few years.A big reason for me personally to space it out more, is that I like going to away games and seeing other venues.
Fine. Go down to a second tier of P5 and still better than a field position "slugfest" against the Ferentzes These two teams and coaches know each other too well and play the same exact way against each other. It's not fun.Lol - which one of those teams are coming to Ames Iowa?
Can you expand on this a little? Just curious whyI'm old enough (unfortunately) to remember when we didn't play Iowa.

I think both fanbases don't want it to die, but they don't want it every year. I think both fanbases would be good with a two on and two off type of deal.
I'll most likely go to those (minus Houston). Went for the bowl game and the city is just so massive and not really "college vibes."Cincinnati, ucf, byu, and Houston should keep you busy for a few years.
I doubt Iowa St would schedule much better than those teams in the non con anyway.
The "we're too cool for this/Iowa is boring/what do we get out of this" crowd can get bent.
College sports, especially football, is about rivalries built over generations. So many great ones are gone now, so the ones we still have need to be protected at all costs.
Extend this game to 2100.
