Tremendous showing for a game against Oakland!
We'll still complain, because young people don't do anything right, but that was a very impressive showing for Cyclone Alley last night.

it took us 30 minutes to go from those mega churches on 30 to the dayton exit. turns out it was backed up because of the game and 3 accidents. what the hell people.

We do have to give the students credit for showing up. Come on, fellow geezers, do the same.

This should tell you that there will be plenty of tickets available cheap outside the stadium for non-conference games. No reason to gripe about the games being sold out. Show up and you will be able to get in for a decent price. Let's fill some of those empty seats.

Sorry but he has a point. Hardly any noise on defense when it was a close game.... I could hear my phone notifications throughout most of the game.

Yeah, and if I can hear the pep band during free throws, the students are doing something wrong.

I will admit, it did sound more quiet than usual especially on defense. However, given our quality of opponent I will give them a pass. Come Monday though, they better get more vocal.

And I know I sound like a broken record and am preaching to the choir, but can we just do away with CA? I want a loud, drunk, crazy *** student section. Every time the camera pans the crowd after a big play and I see 10 people in the front row playing with their phones, it pisses me off. And why is it that there are always the same 15 girls in the front row? Is the CAC all girls? If yes and you are reading this, would you at least freaking yell and cheer? Don't just stand there and try to look pretty. Make some damn noise and yell a few cuss words at somebody.

I was in the student section and I agree, noise level as a whole was pretty pathetic. A buddy next to me missed BDJ's alley-oop because he was scrolling through twitter. SMH. It should be better as quality of opponent gets better though.

Old People Tips for Students:

Yell a few cuss words at somebody, but not too many, or else we will get mad (see "F*** McGary").

Be rowdy and excited, but not too rowdy, or else you will want to rush the court, and we have a set of rules for when that is OK.

Show up early to make noise, because I paid way too damn much money to show up before 6:58 for a 7:00pm tip.

Keep your phone in your pocket throughout the game, or else I will post on CF during the game from the parquet about the students using their smartphones.

Come to all of the games, because it looks bad when you don't, and nothing in a 20-year old's life is a reasonable excuse for missing an Iowa State basketball game.

Band members should not chant during free throws, because the chants are stupid, even though the other students do not make enough noise during free throws anyway.

Bring signs into the student section, but not dumb signs, or else we will tell you that your sign is dumb.
