Bob Newhart against himself? Didn't the end one of those shows with him waking up in bed with his TV wife saying he had a crazy dream?

Doesn't seem fair.

This list reads as a classic “everyone who made these decisions is at least 50+ years old” absolutely love the effort here even though holy crap some of these ancient shows are getting way to much love.
There was some weight given to older shows that carved the path, blazed the trail, etc., and created the TV landscape that later shows were able to build upon. Do appreciate the input though.

Totally fair! Think there was way too much weight given to some of these but you will never find a way to do this that appeases everyone and love the effort here! Community, scrubs, parks and rec all being double digit seeds while still being some of the most popular streamed shows showed the age gap more than anything.

Only had to google 2 of the shows though to figure out what they were lol

We respect the assessment.

The committee attempted to include a relatively even distribution among four general period quandrants: 1950-69, 1970-1984, 1985-1999, 2000-present. As Gonzo said, we wanted to get some representation of "classic" shows, but giving some weight to this millennium. It might skew "too old" or "too new" depending on the viewer, and we realize that.

Building the field itself involved a lot of discussion, as did seeding and region placement.

Agree. Plenty of double-digit seeds find a way to the later rounds. Will be fun to see how the voting unfolds.

We tried to pattern this after the real NCAA tournament as much as possible, for both selection and structure. (And as you notice, @CycloneRulzzz did an outstanding job as Gumbel-Rulzzz for the reveal). We expect disagreement about inclusion & seedings, just like discussion unfolds after NCAAT field is announced.

Plus remember, when we get to the voting phase, it might reflect which shows wind up being overseeded or underseeded. It isn't going to go chalk the entire way. That's where participants play a part.

We appreciate any feedback and invite participation, here and during the voting.

This is the thread to banter about seedings and inclusion, so feel free.
Golden girls being a 15 seed is also a touch shocking.

Also kinda surprised Freeks and Geeks was allowed with only one season. Shouldn’t have been cancelled but you can’t have a one season show on the bracket
