Yeah there were several tough cuts.No Murphy Brown is a bit surprising.

That's kinda scary about the viewership ratings of those 2 shows... they were both really high in the ratings. If those 2 shows are not great, then the viewers must have poor taste in comedy.Big Bang Theory and 2 and a Half Men are really built out of the same mold. Not great television shows, but good for a mindless laugh or two.
Those shows are in the same mode of law and order or the dozen different CSI’s. They aren’t good tv but you know exactly what you are going to get and the olds that still watch network TV love it.That's kinda scary about the viewership ratings of those 2 shows... they were both really high in the ratings. To be fair, these brackets are very subjective and are all going to based on opinion of the voters. I really do not watch much tv, so I will not be voting because I have not seen very many of these shows. I read a lot of novels and spend very little time with the TV on. I do watch ISU sports though.
WKRP was one of the two shows I had to google. If you’re under a certain age I doubt you have even heard of it.I got a final four of:
- Seinfeld (the biggest of heavyweights and eventual overall champion)
- WKRP (shocking upsets along the way with the older demographic pulling through with many mentions made of the greatest single episode of all time on TV. "As the Lord is my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly".)
- Married with Children (in the weakest bracket by far. RIP M*A*S*H which I loved)
- Cheers (dividing the older demographic in the elite 8 between Cheers and Home Improvement and the younger demographic voting for the classic bar-based sitcom and hearing a lifetime of Norm'isms.)
Oof, couldn't disagree more...I didn't really like Amy on SNL, but loved her on Parks and Rec. I'll give you Ron though, the Swanson Pyramid of Greatness is quite a philosophy of life.Parks and Rec = the team with the stud player you love watching but playing for a coach you can't stand. I think Amy Poehler is super annoying and not funny at all, but Ron Swanson might be one of the greatest sitcom characters of all time.
I'm not old, and I really liked BBT, but it is formulaic and you're going to get some repeat storylines. Think "comfort TV", it's reliable, steady, calming. Part of a good, balanced entertainment diet for me - I have plenty of serial dramas I watch, along with some comedy that pushes boundaries much more. Those shows are in the same mode of law and order or the dozen different CSI’s. Not for this thread but would be interesting to see in 10 years if any of the new sitcoms that would make this list would be on a network.
That seed is giant horsesh*tLetterkenny getting snubbed with a 16 seed.
You speak the truth JM4CY and that’s what’s I likes abouts yasThat seed is giant horsesh*t
Seriously, the writing, delivery, and creativity of that show is beyond next level. It's a 6 seed at worst. Because it's "hidden" away on Hulu and swears a ton probably causes people not to know what it is or think it's not for them. It has UMBC written all over it, you don't know what it is or anything about it and then you watch it and you fall in love immediately. You speak the truth JM4CY and that’s what’s I likes abouts yas
Yeah the bracket was extremely skewed towards network TV. Personally I liked Shorsey better then the last couple seasons of letterkenny, some great individual episodes but the season as a whole wasn’t the bestSeriously, the writing, delivery, and creativity of that show is beyond next level. That's fair but the first several seasons of Letterkenny has inside them literally some of the funniest TV I have ever seen in my life.Yeah the bracket was extremely skewed towards network TV. Idk, they were kind of the dollar store version of the Office IMO. An ok show with some really good to great characters. 10 seems appropriate.Parks and Rec being a 10 seed is certainly a decision
I am looking all over for "The Good Place" I am assuming they at least made the NIT.Golden girls being a 15 seed is also a touch shocking.
Also kinda surprised Freeks and Geeks was allowed with only one season. Shouldn’t have been cancelled but you can’t have a one season show on the bracket
I've tried Schitt's Creek multiple times based on the hype I hear. I don't get it. I don't think it's funny hardly at all. Totally agree with the Parks and Rec take though.Idk, they were kind of the dollar store version of the Office IMO. An ok show with some really good to great characters. 10 seems appropriate.
Schitt's Creek gets a raw deal in the 8/9 matchup with Fresh Prince IMO. Against any of the other 8 seeds I'd pick Schitt's, but Idk if I can do that with their Fresh Prince matchup.
Schitt's Creek is an acquired taste for sure. I don't think I started liking it until the 3rd or 4th episode. The characters needed time to marinate a bit, but when I saw Chris Elliott was in it I knew I would like it.I've tried Schitt's Creek multiple times based on the hype I hear. I don't get it.
