I agree with your decision about animated shows.

I think selecting the definition to use for the word sitcom might have been the hardest decision to make and I appreciate how hard that might have been. For example, I don't think Orange meets the definition of sitcom (nor Sex in the City), but of course that is just my opinion. Someone mentioned the laugh track idea and that might very well be the most defining characteristic of a sitcom and a good solution, but that would have eliminated some good shows from the voting too. (whether a live audience or added laugh track is irrelevant to the answer). Anyway, I look forward to continuing this journey through the voting.

Very well said and lot of what you said was discussed as a committee. Defining sitcom was difficult for us and we tried to do best we could. Committee was rather small and something this big and vast with a bigger committee would probably be better.

Hopefully we get bigger committees when doing more of these in the future. It was really fun process putting this together.

Bigger committees aren't necessarily better! I find, the bigger the committee, the more likely you are going to have too many ideas and never reach consensus. A smaller committee is probably the way to go on something like this. Have you ever seen consensus in a megathread?

You guys have done fine. What you might need is more input and you are getting plenty now. Rulzzz, don't get hung up on the feedback, including mine. Just keep doing your thing. No one on CF is more sincere in their efforts than you!

Appreciate this but my words there and everywhere are not meant to be critical of any opinions. Like I said before the worst thing people could do is say nothing.

We probably did the opposite of the sitcom twitter bracket which skewed young and we skewed more old.

So, now you have some good feedback to consider for next time. This one is still the best, darn Sitcom Bracket Game we have ever had!

I think there is way more animation material than some people think there is.
But the question is are you going to do animated sitcoms or just animated series? Because I personally don’t think there’s 64 animated sitcoms worthy of even having arguments over. Just regular animated series? Ehhh maybe? You’re gonna have to include Japanese shows to get there which reminds me, where’s the British sitcoms on here?

Where’s IT Crowd, Peep Show, Mr. Bean, The Inbetweeners, Father Ted?

I’ll even give you Fawlty Towers from the 70s! :jimlad:

Peep Show might be one of the best sitcoms of all-time. The Inbetweeners is one of my faves too.
