With the potential lose of TV contracts and increasing moves to streaming is there any chance that the Cyclones.tv service could take over ISU's primary media source? I feel like they could get a fair number of subscribers at a $10-15/month price point.

So instead being trite, I’m going to try to explain why this wouldn’t happen. Long story short, it’s very likely that a third-party service would want our media rights. One of the main purposes of modern college athletics is to advertise and build the brand and prestige of the college. That’s better accomplished by being nationally broadcast. You can’t attract new fans/future students by asking them to get access behind a paywall.

Even if we couldn’t get anyone to buy our rights, we’d still at least bundle the whole conference’s media together instead of going through individual schools. ISU fans wouldn’t want to have to subscribe to a Baylor streaming service, and vice versa.

Would only need about 6,000,000 people to sign up on Day 1 and then grow at a 10% annual clip.

Seems totally reasonable.
