I thought this might happen. He's sustained a few head injuries the past 2 games Texas has played. Do we think they'll go with Case McCoy or is there someone else that we don't know about? This has to be a good thing considering Ash beat out McCoy 2 years ago for this job.

If true I certainly think this helps us immensely. Texas' offense is far less effective with McCoy as QB than with Ash. If true I am even more happy that this was released today rather than being a game time decision so the coaches have some time to prepare.

"Keep Ash out and give him another week to rest up for OU" I love this mindset. Texas has zero respect for ISU.

I would be shocked if Ash is not the starter, lets not be dumb here, if Mack loses this game his farewell tour has officially began.

So true, although our history with Texas in general is so little to talk about, would it really matter?

I have to admit, more than any QB, the name I'm sick of hearing at Texas against ISU is Shipley. It will be a good day for ISU when that family finally runs out of kids. (already may have, haven't seen a Texas roster this year) Just seems they've called that name too many times for great plays against ISU.

Explosively fast players coming off an ankle injury might be an alright thing too. Sucks they have him back, but I wouldn't expect 100% out of him either. Also, with their top linebacker out and 2nd best linebacker sitting the first half. ISU needs to get points up early to stand a chance. Stack the box to slow the run and make Texas go 1 on 1 in the pass game. Best shot we have at slowing them down.

I still have nightmares of that Case McCoy pass to Jordan Shipley 2 years ago. ******* Lenord Johnson.

After McCoy, I believe Texas's next option is Tyrone Swoopes, who had a lot of buzz around him at one point but hasn't seen a lot of game action.

Based on this, I expect the game to play out thusly:

The Cyclones are winning by 10 in the 4th quarter. McCoy gets knocked out of the game. Enter Swoopes, who's first play is a fumble recovered by ISU, but it gets overturned in review in favor of Texas. Swoopes then leads UT on two quick drives to tie the game, and then Texas prevails in OT after ISU misses a FG.

I watched the K-State/Texas game. Ash did not play the 2nd half. McCoy is good, and he did all right helping Texas win that game. I'm not sure it really matters too much which quarterback plays. ISU has to stop their running game. If they can do that, I think they will have a good chance to win this game. Texas does not have a very good defense from what I saw.
